Re: Xplore Flexors — Thoughts on Standard vs Hard

But that binding is plastic. Push plastic past spec and it cracks. I'll have to take another look at my bindings, for some reason I was pretty sure they are anodized aluminium. Xplore bindings are made out of Derlin molded arount some sort of steel inserts. https://www.delrin.com/ Its is plastic......

Re: Rossignol XP 12

What is your favorite boot right now- the Alaska XP? And what do you think about the Alaska XP vs Alfa Free? Yes the Alaska XP is the one I like the most. The Alfa free is a lot of fiddling around... to kick and glide, you need to loosen the upper part. Its hard to have both boots at the same loose...

Re: Rossignol XP 12

But going down steep icy and crusty slopes (no telemark turn), I taking the xplore/alfa free combo! I know its hard to believe but an alfa free fully tighten feels like you're stuck in a cast. The cuff forward flex is way stiffer than on my Garmont Excursion. ^ Very interesting! However, what I'm m...

Re: Alpina Alaska XP vs Alaska NNN-BC fit

The Alaska BC has a deliberate oversized insole. http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4612&sid=310def0a7e19132bcb4dd6edad6e3aa9&start=20#p53297 I have confirmed this from Alpina (10 years ago). I cannot speak for the Alaska XP- The Alaska XP insole is true to size, the Alaska BC is long...

Re: Alpina Alaska XP vs Alaska NNN-BC fit

These 3 boots are the right size for me.

The Alaska BC is a little weird, in size 43 it has a size 44 sole.

Re: Rossignol XP 12

boby13 Thank you for your perspective. If I am hearing you correctly Xplore would be awesome on an XC ski that turns such as Nansen, Ingstad, even for some guys on FT X. However it will not deliver the power of 75 mm, especially once a cable is deployed. Yes exactly, but I haven't tried the hard fl...

I wonder if I ought to mix up a little more and just coat the exposed edges. Is that what you did, boby13?

Yes exactly, my epoxy looks weird because I did a little sanding on it.

Re: Rossignol XP 12

I must say that the increasing number of positive reports on the Xplore system are getting hard to ignore! Lilcliffy you know you NEED to try the xplore system! I'm a convert now, I just don't know if I will replace my nnnbc on my e99 class skis. I never tried the hard flexor but I don't thin...
