Re: Little homemade xcd video

Bienvenue, Boby! Tremblant (at the resort) is where my son and I in 2014 made our first linked tele turns on old yard-sale alpine skis, lightweight 3-pins, and leathers. We had a blast! And we were hooked. We made several trips there over 3 years. From there we moved up into burly gear, but I still ...

Re: Really New Skis

Enjoy those fat skis, Al! As for them being your last pair, screw that! Maybe they'll end up as your 4th or 5th last, who ever knows! I've been considering getting my last pair, too. Maybe Salomon QST 99's...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Excellent tips here on warming and stretching the leathers. Thanks, all! Now I'm going to ask my wife if she'll wear my Ski Marches to hot yoga and kill two birds with one stone! Good news on the boot saga. After Sunday's stern reading of the riot act to my Alico's, on Tuesday I gave them another ch...

Re: Intro and Thanks

"woodenskis.com" is a good starting place. the FAQ page discusses maintenance, waxing, and pine tarring. As Phoenix mentioned there are some good tutorials on Youtube as well. Enjoy!

Re: S-bound98 and me

Hey, John! It sounds like you've got the right approach to this backcountry ski business, i.e. have fun and don't take it or ourselves too seriously. You asked me about how the breaking-in is going with the Ski Marches. I've given an update on the "Alico Ski March" thread under "Commu...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Update on breaking in my Ski Marches: 6 BC outings in 12 days on trails in Fraser, CO. and Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park on snowshoe and skier-tracked trails. Each tour was between 2.5 and 3.5 hours long, between 8 and 13 k. Yes, the tour times included lunch, frequent adjustments to gear, clothing, nasal pa...

Re: Voile 3-pin and hardwire compatibility?

How about the opposite? Anyone try attaching the 3-pin voile cables to a Hardwire toe-piece? The Hardwire cartridge/heelpiece is overkill on the skis/boots I've been using my Hardwires on. I'm not convinced that the Hardwires were the best choice of binding for my S-Bounds,they're burlier and heavie...

Re: S-bound98 and me

Hello there! Good questions. I was out today on 1st generation S-Bound 98's in Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park. The temps were minus 2 to minus 6 C in the woods climbing up in deep snowpack on a trail well tracked by snowshoers. I was skiing in my new Alico Ski Marches, a boot somewhat sturdier and heavier th...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Second short tour in as many days in my new Ski Marches up in Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park. I prepped them last spring with the Zamberlan product recommended on this thread, and walked the neighbourhood a few times. They're good so far, though I've added my wear-everywhere custom orthotic inserts over top ...

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Is it a secret where "Telecamp" is located? Sounds like an in-joke that I'm not hip, cool, non-binary, or woke enough to get. It sounds like there's some serious ski-loving going on there, though.
