Re: Lake Huron 43 30N the Levithon and the Ho that Came to Dinner

Nice fish! We're enjoying some warm weather here in SW Ontario, warm enough to get me out on a local reservoir 3 days running. Ice-out in Algonquin Park this year is going to be very late. Good start to your paddling/fishing season, fisheater!

Re: Alico Nordic March sizing

I wore my brand new pair today around the house and outside for a short walk. They are going to require a big effort and patience to break in. Mine are UK 9. I usually wear US 9.5-10. The Ski Marches are big. "Voluminous" as someone else wrote here.

Re: Recommendations for replacing my Totally Pistes

Sorry, I haven't got any strong convictions re: recommendations. I really like my Salomon Q-90's in powder, but you could probably do better for hard pack. My Q-90's are already 3-4 years old. Salomon updated them to "Q-92's" with some mods since my version. "Soul 7's" were extre...

Re: Waxless Scale Patterns- What's your favourite Flavor?

The S-Bounds got glide-waxed, tips and scales, but remained in the cargo box for a while. I took them out today in Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park. Temps were +5C in the parking lot at 1pm. Blue sky, intermittent clouds, and temps weren't about to drop. The trail followed an unplowed summer park service road u...

Re: Recommendations for replacing my Totally Pistes

Here's another idea: try something completely new. The Totally Pistes were great and you loved them. Consider a new design, something that is NOT what you've been used to. Ski designs have evolved a lot since the early 2000's. Why not do some research and try something that might require some adjust...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

The boots arrived today as scheduled. Wow! Really look like quality boots! Glad I ordered a size smaller than my usual. They're stiff, especially around the cuffs. I usually take a EURO 44/US 10. These are UK 9's and are definitely not too small. I suspect breaking these in will require patience and...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Hrishi, before gambling on the fit of mail-order boots maybe consider checking out used equipment at consignment stores before you leave Colorado. More tele gear here than elsewhere. Boulder and Denver must have some treasures, but I never get around to checking there. I've found some great equipmen...

Re: Skis: Black Diamond Voodoos

No skins purchased yet, because no plans in sight of up-hilling anywhere soon. My youngest son is visiting for his high school March break and he's liking them. 2nd day after a 2-month hiatus and he's doing 360's and backwards tele turns on them. Looking better than me in the moguls, too. He's likin...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Well, I couldn't resist the cheerleading here, so I ordered a pair from the British army surplus outfit recommended by fisheater. They are due to arrive very soon. Ordered down a size, so hoping they fit.

Re: Lynx in my yard

That is really cool! I was just saying to my wife the other day that I've yet to spot a wild cat on any travels, skiing or canoeing. That comment was made on a day we were happy to watch 4 coyotes hunting for mice under the snow in a meadow in RMNP. And same day: cow moose and yearling calf on a BC ...
