Re: Sbounds...leathers

Is it a secret where "Telecamp" is located? Sounds like an in-joke that I'm not hip, cool, non-binary, or woke enough to get. It sounds like there's some serious ski-loving going on there, though.

Black Diamond Aurora

Anybody familiar with these? I think they're early 2000's vintage. Can't find anything on them.

Re: Snow Blades?

Thanks for replying. The snow blades/ski shoes concept is a way to get my wife out on "skis". She's has a life-long fear of skiing down hills, but is quite happy and secure on snowshoes. She likes x-country kick and gliding on the flats, but going down hills is traumatic and absolutely no ...

Snow Blades?

I came across some of super-short "snow blades" for sale, used, and wondered if they have any potential as BC ski-shoes. I've seen people skiing on them at resorts, and wasn't motivated in the least in that setting, but maybe in another setting...Has anyone here ever tried mounting a free-...

Re: Homemade BC

Snow Blades??? Anybody do any BC mods on anything marketed as snow blades? Some used ones for sale cheap and I started wondering about the short ski-shoe concept with or without permanent skins and a Voile Mountaineer mounted on top. I'll start a thread...

Re: Fischer Sbound 112 ?

Consider 179's. I'm your size and my s-Bound 98's at 169cm are shortish. I believe I'd get better Glide out of 179's.

Those Arkos doubles are the same as mine, right down to the purple laces. I love 'em.

Re: Some feedback on this combination...

I'm surprised at the XCD GT dimensions. I have a 90's-era pair and they're much slimmer. I'd have thought more like 68 mm at the shovel. At 190 lbs. plus 15 lb. pack you might want longer skis as mine are 190 cm and I'm 150 lbs. It will be a kick and glide BC set-up. I ski mine on Arkos leathers and...

Re: Voile 3-Pin Hardwire Binding

I've experience with both, but more with the simple cable version. As mentioned elsewhere, the cable version is the Mountaineer with brackets to accept a cable, and a cable which can be attached or left in one's car or backpack. I've used my cables a lot at lift-served resorts on 90's-era alpine ski...

Re: Lake Huron 43 30N the Levithon and the Ho that Came to Dinner

Nice fish! We're enjoying some warm weather here in SW Ontario, warm enough to get me out on a local reservoir 3 days running. Ice-out in Algonquin Park this year is going to be very late. Good start to your paddling/fishing season, fisheater!
