"Junior" Sized 150 waxless BCXC skis?

I'm curious if anyone has seen any brands selling smaller Junior sized backcountry xc skis. Looking to get my lady a metal edged setup. Looking around, many of the 150ish size skis are labeled as Junior skis and go for about half the price. Also I have been unable to find anything under 160cm with a...

I think Vibratite is the answer. And you might first try teflon tape.

I agree with this. I have had pretty good results using teflon tape (just standard plumber's pipe tape).

Re: name this turn

I always heard it referred to as "slarving" or "smearing". That may be referring more of the McConkey-style off piste skid turn. Anybody who has skied Pontoons or similar powder skis knows what I'm talking about, those giant skis just don't like to turn any other way. This kind o...

Re: I hate my bindings

Wow - you have two bindings on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, I bet you noticed a huge difference. The bishop has arguably the best lateral control of any 75mm binding with the full plate design. The only one that would likely be as good is probably Bishop's new offering that came out this...

Re: I hate my bindings

I have been skiing Bishop Bombers for the last two seasons. Amazing resort binding, the toe bale design eliminates rocker launch in my opinion. I can ski those bindings with my newer Black Diamond boots or with my worn out "super elf toe" Garmont Ener-G boots and they feel very similar. De...

Voile 3 Pin Cable Climbing Wire Compatibility

So I just mounted up some Voile 3 Pin Cable bindings to my new Madshus Annums. I was rooting around in my box of ski junk and I found that I had two sets of heel climbing wires. One set from Black Diamond O3's and one set from G3 Targas. I tried to put both of them onto the heel plate of the 3 Pin C...

Re: Help Me Choose: Burly Leather Boots vs. Soft Plastic Boots

Out with the old, in with the new! Just drilled and mounted my new Annums with inserts to go along with my new Alico Ski March boots. They are a far cry from my old 207cm Karhu XCD Supremes. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the boot/ski selection! I can't wait to take them for a spin. https://l...

Re: Armada TST Mount Help

I think that adding more holes isn't worth it, even to have a second mount for powder days. Even with inserts I feel like more holes are just more hassle without much gain. You can't ever put a hole back to what is was before.
