Re: Always check the basement.... 199s

Alright, ghosting more than posting lately, Feb was a bit rough, sick kid, sick wife, long work drive.... But dont worry, I didn't let any of that get in between me and my 88's. Got my inserts installed so I can switch between BC and 3 pin. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/gHlaFzaYZuISVAE...

Re: Baxter State Park Traverse South to North

Wow, amazing trip, sounded like a legit adventure, wrestling your pulk across side hills and over that narrow bridge must have been rough. I know I'd be unleashing a string of expletives, cursing my very existence. Great report. That place has been on my "list", then after reading "th...

Re: Can we have a better XCD boot midsole?

We need a t4/excursion in nnnbc. It would solve everything. :D Gotta be a reason it hasn't happened. Is the binding just not strong enough? Can it really be much weaker than a simple 3 pin? Both rely primarily on 3 screws, similarly spaced to secure them. Or will the bàr rip out of the toe? The syst...

Always check the basement.... 199s

Headed out to kick out some miles on my 78s this afternoon and decided to stop in at Ragged Mountain equipment on the way. Headed over to the skis, fondled a set of E88s, (as is my custom) chatted with the salesman for a minute, but still not on sale, so I put them back, grabbed a tub of quickwax an...

Re: Sandwich Notch Rd end-to-end from the north

Thats cool, that was a major road at one point in time. Sandwich is a beautiful area, I work down there sometimes, classic New England frozen in time.

Re: Mounting inserts for both tele and AT bindings on the same ski?

Ive gone the insert route on two sets of skis, (nnn/nnnbc,nn) love it. I have been contemplating AT/Teletech for my next potential skis myself, but, like you, cant afford boots yet, plus I like keeping my options open. Quick swap out with the impact driver, some thread lock, instant attitude adjuster.

Re: Axe-Hewn Skis

yeah that's a good one. both 1 and 2. makes me think, "shit, if people can make a functional ski with an axe, fire, and twigs, i gotta be able to do SOMETHING"...at least that's the thought anyway. thanks for posting it. I totally agree. Really a ski is an incredibly simple device/tool. A...
