Re: New article on XCD in french

Nice article Rod, I like the XCD history. Google Translate is a hell of a handy invention.

Re: Asnes Ski Choice for Pulk Expeditions

Great write up Crayefish , I look forward to reading future chapters! Particularly your humour, as well as sharing the choices you would have made differently. Sharing your learnings provides a great resource to others as they put together kit / plan journeys themselves. Cheers. As far as the spare ...

This is what happens when MBA graduates proceed to middle management. They are not good at finding problems, so they just start making solutions in hopes of merit.
Well said.

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

Hey Smitty, I just got a pair of those white vectors in a 180. they came mounted with SBs. The date on the origonal Voile shipping box said they shipped in 2016. These came from ebay and the seller sold 17 pairs not counting mine and my friends, so they could be from the same source. If you decide ...

Re: Asnes Ski Choice for Pulk Expeditions

Welcome. I would love to see pictures / writeups of your future expeditions, please consider coming back and posting them! The Nansen is a solid all-rounder, but I think I would want something more efficient for the multi-year pulk trips you describe. There's other folks with direct experience on th...

Re: Fischer E-99 getting a makeover/name change?

Don't leave home without your TURNAMIC soles and Comfort Guard Insulation! Give me a break guys, this is the name of a ski?!: "S-Bound 98 Crown / Dual Skin Xtralite" Good God, how many trademarked buzz words can they fit into one name? Marketing budget is larger than the R&D/Engineering/product tes...

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

Thanks Nick and Woods for providing the dissenting opinion! I appreciate the input. Unfortunately it'll be impossible to date these skis. They're the white "military" version, no graphics to reference. Bought third-hand. Bases are in decent shape, a few topsheet nicks, plenty of storage edge rust. N...

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

IMO, the best way to flatten that learning curve is NOT stiffer boots but mellower slopes and snow conditions. Just choose your destinations wisely. For the Vector, I think you can have plenty fun with the Excusions (the black/blue ones are great) and the HWs. Personally, I'd start with that and us...

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

I think with a ski as wide and soft as vectors “true k&g” is a lot less relevant. I ski 3-pins on my objectives, but already the fact that it’s really a DH ski makes striding a half way thing. I’d totally put a TTS setup on vectors. Absolutely, "K&G" was used with very heavy quotations. More like s...
