Re: Rossignol BC 120

I did a couple of hours in my Alicos at the end of last year out of curiosity, definitely not enough boot to drive these skis. I also picked up a pair of the Alaska’s at the end of season last year and looking forward to giving them a trial on the BC120’s whenever the snow arrives.

Re: Rossi BC skis- why all the negativity?

I get a chuckle when I read ‘opinions’...particularly opinions that are lacking in hands on use. I have the BC-120 ski, it’s mounted with a Switchback binding, and it’s a pretty damn sweet combination. I’ve used it for backcountry and some groomer time, it was capable and responsive in both environm...

Re: Crispi Evo Tongue buckling

I’ve noticed similar ‘distortions’ on other boots, I don’t think it’s a huge issue.

Re: The most supportive leather 75mm boots commonly available now?

A few pointers: - The Alico Ski March might eat up your feet like soft butter. They can be terrible if you are prone to blisters. Take good care breaking them in. It could take weeks. They have a super stiff sole but not much support above the ankle. I had this problem as well until I bought a pair...

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 boots

Mine were delivered today- pretty comfy. I went out for a quick ten miles of rolling terrain. I’m impressed with control and power I felt on rolling terrain...the added ankle support that my Alicos don’t have was pretty welcome. I’m going to say the Alicos have the edge on kick and glide though. htt...

Re: Questron for ya... Which skis for 3-buckle boots?

I’m finding a lot of versatility with Rossignol BC 120’s (90mm waist) with Switchback X2’s using 3-buckle Garmont Voodoos. It feels like a pretty responsive setup and I’ve found myself seeking more challenging terrain with them. Most of their use has been going up and down trails, fire roads, and wi...

Re: Musings on Wax

I had some really great luck with my first serious attempt at using kick wax instead of skins on my Rossi’s today. It was pretty awesome to be using kick n’ glide uphill on the same stretch of trail I’d previously been skinning up. Something I quickly learned is that the wax I’m putting on at my sta...
