Re: Green Boots of Everest

I’ll second that- eerie.

Kinda fascinating how the rules change up in The Death Zone as far as people looking out for each other.

Re: Peltonen Metsä Step 270

Finding the .455 & 3cm interesting. Had to hobble out and check my Metsäs- my boot center (size 44) is right around 113cm pins mounted at balance point. Using the .455 & 3cm puts me at about 119cm- roughly where my current pin point is on Xplore. I did already have the thought that moving them forwa...

Re: Weak ankles due to minor accidents

That Inov-8 Men's Roclite G 286 GTX Hiking Boot is more boot than I want for the trails but it looks okay. I do have a pair of VivoBareFoot TRACKER II FG that have been a fantastic boot for me. I typically wear FiveToes or go barefoot a lot, it works for me. Transitioning to minimalist was pretty qu...

Re: The Alberta XCD thread

Lhartley, have you ever gone to Nose Hill to ski? I think a person could get some long stretches to drop a knee (its been at least 20 years since I last run/rode there, never did ski it).

Re: Peltonen Metsä Step 270

Hey capercaillie, slowly improving. Won’t see skis again this season but hoping to start riding again late in April. I’d put my money on the Metsäs for long, straightish, and somewhat level stretches but the Kom would likely kick a whole lotta ass on Forest Service roads and downhill stretches in pa...

Re: Feedback after Greenland pulka trip (pic heavy)

Awesome, thanks for sharing the trip info, it’s inspiration for future adu. Nice test of the Xplore bindings for a multiday tour. As far as the Alfa Polar boots go would you have gone a size smaller (you mentioned foot movement)?

Re: The Alberta XCD thread

Just cruised by the Tunnel Creek parkup on my way to get a checkup on the leg, the first few hundred feet of the access rot/trail is pure mud then slush after that. I haven’t seen anyone parked there for almost 3 weeks now. That more dedicated backcountry ski setup is a puzzler to me at this point. ...

Re: The Alberta XCD thread

Trying to convince myself that a benefit of a broken leg is theres an opportunity to catch up on reading and planning future adventures…lets say I’m working really, really hard on convincing myself, reality is I’m going Bat-Shit crazy!!! Having said that, just spent a couple of days chewing through ...
