Re: Size and Ski Question

Jalp, thanks for the heads up! I am near McCall. From what I gather, the 10th Mountains are essentially Epochs, which brings me back to size/weight considerations. Well, McCall is a great area for BC XC, I'm a little envious. Definitely don't overlook the groomed trail options available in the area...

Re: Size and Ski Question

Greetings. I have been sleuthing through these forums for the past week gathering advice on my first upcoming “backcountry nordic” purchase. lots of good information here. I was hoping for specific advice regarding my purchase. Hi, you mentioned central Idaho, are you close to McCall? Not sure if t...

Re: Gear Basket

New E99 and E109 Tour Xtralites on ebay. Very good price if you are looking for 200cm. I purchased a pair of E99's from this seller last February. Check with the seller, they may have other lengths available. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-FISCHER-E109-BCX-EASY-SKIN-200-CM-SKIS-ONLY-SUPER-DEAL/3832712...

Re: Bonna 2400

Hey Jalp, can you grab a metric tape and give me some sidecut dimensions on these beauties? The 2400's came in a few different varieties, I am curious. Thanks! Glad to! 210cm 61/54/58 If you need any measurements beyond that or more detailed pictures just let me know. They are marked Turski Med. I'...

Re: Bonna 2400

Absolutely beautiful Jalp! :o :o :o The Troll traps are ok... I still use them with the Alaskas on my woodies... I personally hate the Choinard pins. I find them hard to step in and out. Black, classic SuperTeles would look very nice if the Trolls don't fit your boots... Well, I do happen to have a...

Re: Bonna 2400

Hole pattern is probably what was the standard 3 hole, 3 pin pattern for decades, until the Rottefella Super Tele and Voile generation of heavier duty 3 pins. That sounds correct for the hole pattern. The Troll pattern is: Forward screw at 1” forward of pin line and aft screws at only about 0.9” be...

Re: Bonna 2400

Thanks Andy and Ullr for your opinion on the bindings. I gave them a good second look and they actually appear to be quite a bit more robust than the wire bail bindings that left me walking some years ago. As I recall, it was a memorable walk at -30F. I found that my Alaska 75 boots will fit, proper...

Bonna 2400

I usually find a few cool pairs of older skis each season. Most aren't really that post-worthy but I think yesterday's is an exception. I came home with a pair of Bonna 2400 210cm, Medium stiff. Edges are ½ Lignostone, 1/2 segmented metal. They are new. They are probably about 40 years old and have ...

Re: Altai Kom binding advice

Hi, I have the 3-pin hardwire mounted on my Koms. Though I am in love with this binding in general- if I were to mount it again I think that I would mount a telemark binding with a free-pivot touring mode (e.g. Voile Switchback). I hadn't even considered something with free pivot. Would that work w...

Re: Buying Asnes skis...

Yes, this is true AND think of all the potential people who didn’t get an order in on time and literally missed the boat because they waited for cold temps before buying skis... Also, Neptune dropped me like a hot potato and missed out on lots of $. You are right but it’s nice to have a viable opti...
