Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Here's a few shots from around my neighborhood within an hour drive or so. We're finally getting some decent snow in southern Idaho!

I know my E99s were down there somewhere but I don't think I saw them much that day.

Re: Pomoca Race Roll

I use Pomoca Climb Pro S-glide skins on my AT setup and the glide is amazing for a 100+mm wide skin. I won't even bother with other companies skins anymore the difference is that big. These race skins are supposedly even better glide so I don't think you will be disappointed. Skimo.com sells skins ...

Re: Thinner 75mm boot soles?

I am hearing reports some of the new 2018-2019 boots, specifically the Alpina Alaska, are popping up with thinner Vibram duckbills. 15mm instead of 18mm. Can anyone here confirm? Is this also the case for other brands and models this year? I think the Alaska 75's have been at 15mm for at least a fe...

Re: Rotte 3 pin heel pad

Nick, I'm assuming that your heel piece is the same as mine. Serrated aluminum plate with plastic insert, 3 little tabs on each side of the plastic? If so, try seating fully the 3 tabs on one side and then arching the plastic insert to give a bit more clearance for the opposite tabs to engage the sl...

Re: Pomoca Race Roll

I have been thinking the same thing Jalp. I have a pair of Atomic Aspects, 85mm underfoot, and was thinking I might have a go at cutting down one of my older pairs of skins to create a skin skin for mellow touring. My concern is that the skin will peel off at the front due to friction. I guess I co...

Re: Wooden Ski Care and Preparation

Thank you Smitty for starting this thread and also to Woodserson for the detailed post. I had 2 firsts yesterday evening. 1st time on woodies and 1st time kick waxing anything. Results: mind blown. I must have really lucked out with my waxing. No slip whatsoever and the glide was amazing! I'm usuall...

Re: Lurkskiing

Anybody out there who regularly or in occasion use a lurk instead of two poles? With hoks its obvious but in other contexts? I broke a pole yesterday so today I went skiing with my Nansens and a lurk. Super short tour and nothing special but its a nice feeling and i think with training it could aid...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

^^^ Now THAT is a review! Also why I left my Ski March at home today in favor of some well broken in leather. Guess I just wasn't in the mood to deal with the whole car chase thing. But seriously, I'm having toe pinch issues with mine also, just on one boot. It isn't super bad and should work itself...

Re: Intro and Thanks

Yes, yes it is! Overall, this transition from alpine has been one of the best things to ever happen to me in my life both for my body and mind. Yeah! Definitely inspiration to keep going. My doctor agrees that this is the best thing I can do for myself although she's not too impressed by some of my...
