Re: Unapologetic love note to the Fischer E99

I don’t need more skis! I don’t need more skis! I don’t need more skis! Besides I get good results with red/silver, and even stay mostly goo free! Okay all of the above is true, but is the crown version difficult to find? If you want to buy them in Canada, there is this family owned store that have...

Re: NNN vs NNN-BC on 50ish waisted XC touring skis

Where do folks buy Alfa Guards in Canada? For a 44 Alpina Alaska NNNBC, how would this translate to the Alfa Guard? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk I know the Alfa Guards are available from La Cordée in Québec. For your question about sizing, have you looked in this thread? http://telemarktalk....

Re: Ski to fill the Gap

Idle thoughts while waiting for snow... What would be a good ski to fill the gap between the Mountain Race 48 and the FT 62 , from the list below? (I'm self-diagnosing as having early-stage AGAS -- I think I caught it here, but maybe I was already pre-disposed.) Any of them would be great, i...

Thanks for suggestions. After getting excited about the Guides, someone else swooped in and bought them before I could. Damn!
Don’t worry... I was as excited as you a while ago by the very same skis... somehow it still appear on their site but they are not available...

Re: Ski Length Dilemma

You are right, my good man. I choose the FT62 for use above treeline, and when traversing in more open and flatter terrain. For more technical and playful skiing, I have the FT62 in 188cm as my "go-to" ski for most days. To be hones, I prefer the Ingstad 205cm if I want more K&G - as in the conditi...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Nice. Is it silly to ask: On that day, how do you think the FT62s would have been, in comparison to the 112s? Not as good edging, carving? Just curious. I was not there of course but just by the sound of the ski on the snow and how it looked, it was definitively not FT62 snow conditions. I tried th...

Re: Rec for new skis?

You have a XC ski. Get a DH ski. (FT) Start there and then fill in the gaps after a season. You'll know more and there will be less speculation. I second Woods on that. You already got yourself a really potent XC ski, so get yourself a DH ski which as a bonus is pretty good at XC... well from my pe...

Re: Ski Length Dilemma

I’ll be banned if I bring up a next pair! It’s easy to think something, but miss getting it down in black and white... Yes, Nitram hit me over the head with a 2 X 4 and made me see that the advice I have been asking for is: 188 . (If I could make the 188 blink and flash, I would.) So, I acce...

Re: Ski Length Dilemma

A lot of people are advising you to get the 188 so if you came here for wisdom you should listen to the voice of reasons 8-) Ha ha. I can be a little dense sometimes, but I think I heard Nitram that time. Sometimes it takes a 2 X 4 to get through! Thanks, man! :D So? What is the verdict? 188 or 196...
