Re: Touring speed comparison of skinny dbl camber vs. fat fishscaled ski

Hey Bjorn, my T4s are from last year and I love them. First off they are a half size bigger than my T2s, which I needed for touring. Second I found the lower cuff makes skiing, both up and down, feel more natural. Which makes sense because they feel more like a regular hiking boot to walk in. I'm gl...

Re: Mikaela Shiffrin

I like Bodes commentary. I hate direct TV. They're lying thieves whos bill didn't match what they quoted and they charge your credit card without permission. We canceled after two months and had to get Visa to get us a credit. The customer service rep from Visa said she deals with about 6 of these i...

Re: Touring speed comparison of skinny dbl camber vs. fat fishscaled ski

I don't think I came up with hard conclusions, more a generalization that wide and especially scaled skis aren't necessarily sluggish boat anchors. I was also happy that the T4s could hang with my leather boots as far as touring speed. My kick that day was acceptable but not great, I think I've had ...

[quote="greatgt.Guess the only thing I'm using all the time is the 20 year old ski poles....TM[/quote] Are they the double wrapped fiberglass Excells that came with big yellow baskets? I used mine for ten years too long because I couldn't give up on a pole that never let me down for all those y...

Re: Mikaela Shiffrin

I think the pressure came from being the big favorite, winning the last Olympics and then the next three world titles(i think). I thought she would have to be pretty lucky to win the big race 5 times in a row considering everything has to go just right. I don't think winning the GS the night before ...

Re: Olympic Snowboarding

Where in the heck are all the ski fans? The mens dh is the marquee Olympic event and I think we had more ski fans at the kids Alpine regionals Monday in Michigan. They were probably at women figure skating. Where else can you get to see a double flying camel toe :D ? Or the men's, checking out the ...

I'm back in Ak. where my local trails just got good. That 500' of vert is spread over 1.5 miles. I do laps on the best of it which is a run of less than 100'. I'm sure you have equally big hills in Mi.

Re: Ski Review: Altai Kom 162cm

Good review Lc. I could have bought a pair at the local consignment shop for 220 bucks mounted with 3pin cables. They were gone the next day. Probably the reason I don't mind touring on the HWs is because I'm used to a heavy leather boot as opposed to an nnn bc set up. I'm glad you have a plan for t...

Re: Touring speed comparison of skinny dbl camber vs. fat fishscaled ski

May be true for you but that doesn't compute with what this old boy has seen on the up down or all around...And they do wonders for some and that's real good but they are not particularly fast and certainly not when compared to cc skis of which many still ski...TM I probably would have gotten diffe...
