Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

Picked these up last night for $200 which is a little more than they are worth - but nice seller and overall pretty good shape. Also, a bird in the hand etc etc. Might be just a bit stiffer than the T2s, or just different. Either way they fit, I am stoked, and the universe is once again in alignement.

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

@ 1EyedJack - Thanks for the offer, I will keep it in mind and get back to you. @ MSU Alum - I might give that a try. Thanks. @ Phoenix - Thanks for the input. Meeting with Garmont seller tonight and we will see from there. The good news is other than some brand new Crispi XPs from The Fey Brothers,...

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

Welp, update time. Brought my boots and liners to the local (alpine) shop and we heated the liners in their oven, put neoprene caps over my toes then socks on over that and stood in the boots with knees slightly bent and a wood dowel under the balls of my feet. Slight improvement, but not quite as m...

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

Ben,

Rice in liners now! Go-time in 5 minutes for round two!

1 - Closer to 1.5 to 2 fingers really, but yes, I believe I was always on the verge of too small - then my foot flattened. Getting old sucks.

2 - Thanks, I had not seen that.

Standy!

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

phoenix - Indeed, and have been eyeing some T2X in 26.5 and some others local to me. Leo - See attached for the footbeds I got with the boots. No idea what to look for as far as footbeds go. Thanks for the input, as a boot moulder is exactly who I hoped would offer their opinion (not to diminish any...

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

Excellent points above; I will indeed focus my heating and shaping efforts on the toe area as opposed to the whole liner for now. I should be able to focus on that this evening or tomorrow and will report back with progress, if for no other reason than to have this thread serve as a either a shinnin...

Re: T2 liners - can these be heated?

wooley12 - Thanks for confirming they can be heated! I think I should have stated "Need to create a small amount of space in the toe box area" as opposed to "make them longer", point taken. I think a 26.5 liner would be too large, and the 26 is a smidge small/short (in other words fits the REST of m...

T2 liners - can these be heated?

Have had these for quite some time, and after the last couple of years on hiatus my foot has changed and the right liner is simply too small-short (shells seem fine : can fit a finger in the back of heel when bare foot placed in shell), and before bringing them to a boot fitter here in Montreal who ...
