Re: "Stupid" Waxing Question

Love climbing wax but after about 25 degrees or so fish scales really excel. I’m ok with giving up a little speed for getting me up to the goods. Been years since I’ve had skins but thinking I’ll get some soon. Definitely enjoy a traversing up trail vs going straight up.

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Is there anyone left out there ripping tele turns on skinny double chamber skis. If not your missing out big time. Take off the training wheels folks and try some old school Nordic telemark!! For the record my E-99's are 185's This is a huge difference from the 205's or 210's that I grew up skiing.

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Drinking, smoking, and playing golf hasn't kept my conditioning up. Can't wait to start waxing up our favorite zones. A few short months and skis will be sliding again!!

Re: "Stupid" Waxing Question

Wow, looks like those would climb well. Looked like brand new leather boots too. I prefer climbing wax over scales any day, but they have there place.

Re: "Stupid" Waxing Question

I've had similar thoughts about when the fish scales get too worn down and weather there is a way to smooth it back out to a wax-able ski. Or better yet a way to re scale your ski once smooth.

Re: XCD - the past and future of skiing?

More and more pricks in the BC. Probably for a variety of reasons like big fat easy gear, the cost of lift serve, and the mind cleanse of being in nature. Used to have the BC all to ourselves. Now people following our beatifically broken trail poaching our goods, post holing our trail and such. King...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots

First time on T talk in quite some time. Just refreshed this thread and I was drooling over beautiful pictures of leather boots. My Andrew North rims are still functional barely. Cant remember what kind of old Merrill's I had as a kid but they also were a double buckle boot. Think the North rim is m...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots

Wish I could buy another pair of Andrew’s North Rim boots. Can’t remember, too much herb, but roughly ten + yrs old. There still my go to aggressive boot but this summer they need a cobble shop bad. Years back sent some Merrill boots to Rocky Mt Resoal. Like hearing there may be a place in NH.
