Re: Ski Length Dilemma

You are right, my good man. I choose the FT62 for use above treeline, and when traversing in more open and flatter terrain. For more technical and playful skiing, I have the FT62 in 188cm as my "go-to" ski for most days. To be hones, I prefer the Ingstad 205cm if I want more K&G - as in the conditi...

Re: Ski Length Dilemma

Just to be clear- I tend towards long skis in general- especially with any ski that I want to crush some miles on. And- if I was living in the mountains and downhill-touring above treeline- I would be on a long stable downhill ski. But- I don't live in the mountains anymore and my local BC downhill...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
Bottom line, please Frank, Asbjørn and @Åsnes1922, can't you see how badly we all need wide WL skis? Better do it soon before we all spend our stimulus checks on Voile or Fischer waxless skis...
We're working on a lot of exciting things. And I believe you will be very happy a...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
Oh well Crister you better be rigth because I sold my 188 FT for the promise of better K&G with the 196. I was really happy with the 188 but I expect the 196 to be even better for my body size and my terrain. Correct me if i am wrong, but i think the FT62 « should » be picked a bit ...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)

Åsnes 1922, thanks for your responses. You sold me on a longer FT 62, however that purchase is a few years down the road. I really enjoy the FT 62 I currently ski. I will I need to put much more wear on that set. I just can’t replace something that works so well. You may need to request a commissio...

Re: Åsnes Finnmark 54bc

Hi! We have a dog joining the family this spring if nothing unfortunate happens. This means a dog ski might be necessary shortly. Does anybody have experience with the Finnmark? Is it a Gamme without edges? All the best Petter Hi Pete, Greetings from Norway, söta bror (SWE)! You're absolutely corre...

Re: Asnes Combat NATO / Nansen 2-Part Pole Review

The strips of canvas holding the ring to the pole fail (They don't appear to be leather on mine, in contrast to the SWIX ones we switch to). We do use these ski poles for track skiing as well, and I cannot exclude that occasionally, we ski over each others baskets, so its not THAT surprising. So to...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)

No new Asnes models for the 2020-2021 season... And VERY sadly, no wider waxless skis either... But the good news is that they have been experimenting with wide waxless skis. They have some prototypes being tested, and hopefully they will come out before I spend all my money on... Wait, on wh...
