Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2019-2020!)

The feedback we get from the shops in the U.S and Canada these days is really good. They are selling our skis like hot bread, so I believe that the so-called "fever" actually is real! The shops are happy and took our advice to send us bigger orders this season, that is good. We have just visited Ne...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2019-2020!)

Hello Crister, Is the posted weight of the previous Gamme 54 BC 2080g/200cm per ski or per pair? In other words, is the new model- at 1010g per ski- less than half the weight? Thanks, Gareth Sorry for the late response, it has been crazy busy here lately. Touring all-around to test skis and to do c...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2019-2020!)

So I have a set of the updated Gamme 54 BC: BTW- the description on the Norwegian site seems up to date- the English site seems to describe the outgoing model? Hi guys. We have had some problems with the English webpage, and the process of updating information and pictures has made more head proble...

Re: Skins- off-season storage

Climbing SKIN STORAGE: Climbing skins should be kept dry, sheltered from sunlight (dark) and in normal room temperature. The is no need to freeze down quality skins, as some rumors have it. The most important to notice is that climbing skins should be dried properly after use, and this should NOT be...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Nah that actually looks much worse than the pattern on those early Amundsen waxless skis I mentioned a long time ago. I bet that pair you referenced has homemade diy scales. As you know, beauty is i the eye of the beholder. And besides, to me, nothing looks and feels better than a properly kicked w...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Great to get your input Christer, helps in making choices. When I look at the Voile Traverse though, it's about the same weight as my TTS set-up on several pairs of my skis. I can see the Traverse as being OK if the climb is gradual where stride and glide is possible, but if you need climbing bars ...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Thank you Crister for all your information. What you you say is the closest thing in the Asnes lineup to a waxless Falketind? Hi! The closest Waxless option would be the Ingstad BC WL. But, I would argue that you can manage a long way with a pair of regular FT62's and a set of 30mm Mohair X-Skins (...
