Re: FT62 196

I took mine out for a second time today. The trip was a 9 km loop over a steep-ish mountain, 20 cm powder on the way up, partly on XC groomers on the way back. Total 2 hours trip. Skis - Åsnes Falketind 62 196 cm, 2020 model Rottefella Super Telemark cable bindings (I did not mount the cable) Boots ...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

While my nearly 2 month old is sleeping I've been able to go for some shorter (2 hour) ski trips in the backyard. About 350m elevation change. Trip to Elgsetheia (translates to moose field hill): IMG_20210116_135102.jpg View to the Trondheimsfjord to the north west. Trip to Gråkallen ("gray old man"...

Re: Asnes Cecilie Wax or Waxless?

SnickBreck The Nansens / Cecilie are excellent skis. I use waxless Nansens because in this part of Norway the climate is a bit less stable than inland, and because days are very short at 63.5 degrees north in the winter when it is more stable. So longer trips are usually in March/April/May when day...

Re: UTE Mag review - Falketind 62

Hi, Here is a rough translation (a corrected google translate) of the full article. I did not try to make it prose, I just made the meaning as in the original. It isn't really a detailed review. ____ They are easy to go with, but are first and foremost reminiscent of a ski for summit tours. Here the...

Re: Winter solstice campout at Colorado’s Rabbit Ears Pass, plus first impressions of the Asnes Nansen

Amazing write up and pictures. Regarding the sinking, there are some snow conditions where no XC ski will really provide sufficient float. The tip is less loaded than the underfoot area, and if the snow is fluffy enough the tip will want to rise on top. Wider skis offer a bit more flotation of cours...

nice view of the inlet from 4000ft above.

Cecilie and I have a special relationship.
That's a nice smile she has! Much nicer than Amundsens sneery grin.

Re: Filling in the Groove

The groove helps your ski strack straight while kicking and gliding. I doubt you can increase any efficiency by filling it...

Re: Looking for advice on equipment trying to figure this out

I'm not sure what the problem is. In which sense is the balance not up to expectations? The 3 pin 75mm binding system requires the sole of the boot to flex. The NNN BC system can pivot more around the toe bar, but you still need to flex the sole for Telemark turns to be able to power your skis in an...

Re: Losing Popularity?

What the others said... Perhaps it's also good for the used market a year or so from now when people can revert to their lifestyle of gym, beers and a movie after work. If they ever do. _____ I hope you guys are luckier than us here in coastal Norway. It's been consistently amazing crisp cold weathe...
