Re: Share your Pre Season, work out routines

omg. that is a lot to remember. looks great. roller ski? I haven't been on roller skis since high school ski team! if I were to get back on them, I should prob just plan a straight line workout directly to the ER. but I think I better to stick to running through the woods as fast as I can. today I b...

Re: Share your Pre Season, work out routines

I've been posting all summer in the thread "I've started training for next season"...

I started trail running to get into ski shape. now that I am doing trail races, I train to race, and good ski condition will be the side effect.

Re: I've started training for next season....

I swear the video must be in slow motion. I felt like I was moving much faster than that ;)

Re: I've started training for next season....

my first ever trail half marathon is now in the books. it was a very rocky single track, 1400ft of climbing. considering I had never run more than 10 miles on trails before, it was a pretty good day. 2nd in my age group. I was too slow in the technical sections because I needed to protect my ankle. ...

Re: I've started training for next season....

ran my first 10 mile trail race today. went very well. miles 7-10 felt great. I've learned that if I just keep my HR at 85-90% of max, the distance is no problem. when I get my HR above that, I can only hold it for short distances and then need recovery . I have 2 half marathon trail races coming up...

Re: I've started training for next season....

I agree with the speed work once a week or so. around where I live there are basically no hills, so speed intervals are important. they don't exactly replicate the muscles used on hills, but its close in terms of cardio exertion. I'm still trying to figure out a weekly training plan since I am racin...

Re: I've started training for next season....

5k yesterday was tough because I exploded my heart rate. I followed up by running 6.5 miles today which felt great. today I managed my HR to a "long distance" range. yesterday I just let HR go through the roof because the distance was so short. I realize now that I have the endurance for the 10 mile...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

trail race today with my little bro. he took 3rd, I took 7th. he managed to run the correct course. I missed a turn and had to back track. cost me about 4-5mins. oops. I blame the lack of altitude for making me confused.
