Re: New BCXC considering Fischer Traverse 78 / S 88 / S 98
My 2 cents on the Ski March. If the Ski March were my first xcd boots I would have given up. Hard to break in, heal blisters after 1/2 mile. I am on my second season with them and they are stiff for K&G but starting to break in and I do like them for downhill. I own the Alpina 1675 and it is an ok b...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
I made some Tele Turns! Took the SB 98’s, Ski March, Voile cable binding, out again. Found a nice service road off the Lakota trail in Winter Park. First few runs were goofy in the 6+” of fresh pow. Once I got it knocked down a bit I felt more comfortable dropping a knee instead of falling back to a...

The Altai call them Tiaks. This is how it’s done!
And yes you will have better control with one on Hoks.

That boot looks like a Frankenstein with all that stitching and plastic parts. Bet it will be coming undone after a year then it will be off to terrorize the villagers. Yes it has bolts sticking out. They should have a special sickly green color option.

Re: Looking for advice on equipment trying to figure this out
Hi Brett, My 2 cents, I come from the same skiing background as you. I started with the with the BC70 and the Rossi boots. During second season I didn’t think the skis were the problem but the boots seemed to not give much support. Went on to try Fischer - same problem, then Alpina 1575’s. The 75 is...

I couldn’t wait to try my new S Bound 98’s today, I’ve had them since October. Any guesses how many face plants I did today going down this hill? Hint: Unconsolidated knee deep pow off the snow machine trail. I figured the little trees would hurt less than the big ones.

Re: New leathers--crease control
Tom, Not only do you make great videos! Your great at boot fitment too. I’ve been working on a pair of Ski March boots trying to get them to fit and work the crease in. The toes are stuffed with rolled up socks stuffed in the toes for a little stretch now I just need to put them in the skis and find...

I have a really old set of Fischer Europa 99. My Alaska’s worked great with them doing k&g. Really got going on the way back in my track. My Ski March that I’m still breaking in we’re pretty stiff to get really going.

Re: Pats Peak ends friendliest uphill policy in NH
Ya that sounded like a real good thing. Sorry to hear about the end of it. Etiquette seems to be pretty lacking these days. Ignorance on the other hand... I threw down $40.00 for two uphill passes at steamboat yesterday (wife & I). Uphill access allowed only outside of operating hours. A tough pill...
