Re: alpine boots on telemark

My first season or two with tele consisted of more ambition than knowledge. Prior to my first lesson, I didn't know the downhill ski was supposed to lead the uphill ski. Believe this kind of turn has a name... "wrong."

I like to think there's a madman in all of us.

So can I telemark with my alpine ski boots ?
Please make a video and share if you try this. Not just for laughs, but also for interest. If it's been documented before, I have never seen it.

Re: Scarpa M Pro Tour liner in 2009/10 T1?

My understanding is the folks over at Intuition are a reliable resource. I fully second fish's comment... Intuition's staff are extremely knowledgable and seem genuinely happy to help. Back when I skied with training heels, I refreshed an old pair of alpine boots with Intuition liners after having ...

Adhesive tape for cold & wet

Can any one recommend adhesive tape that stands the elements, and possibly a little bit thick. Not necessarily for anti-ice properties, but that would benefit too. Use case : I installed aluminum B&D switch plates underneath Vice bindings. Now every time the heel comes down, the underheel springs hi...

Re: Getting stoked

I have a Whaleback pass which is part of the Freedom program. It includes Sunlight in Glenwood Springs, CO, about 90 minutes from Cooper. I have a lot of time off in March. Hmmmmmmmmmm Leadville does skijoring competition the 1'st weekend in March. Looks like a blast, even as a spectator. I planned...

Re: Getting stoked

Season pass to WHERE? & are you going back to Cooper? Yup! Ski Cooper, again... only this time with a pass. I like the low density of people there. Can travel around a bit if we get antsy. They're on the Freedom Pass program, and have reciprocity with several other mountains. In that area Loveland ...

Re: What are your Skiing Travel Plans this Year?

I don't think that's a beefalo, it looks like a Scottish Highland breed. You may be right... identifying livestock breeds has always been a sore point for me. (What kind of goat is that? A boy goat.) My wit didn't get good grades in animal science. I just did a google search, and that image c...

"Cow Hampshire"
Used to routinely pass a farm in NH with these animals that looked like walking shag carpets. Turns out it was a beefalo farm.
