Calling BS.
Too pink for NATO.
Fishscales are not visible.
Logo on base means sintered, meaning scales would have to be machined. Too expensive.
Appears much wider than Nosi.
But I'd love to be wrong!

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
The V series Voile skis have softer and flatter camber. And like I said, they are designed in an area known for blower pow. If there are no mashed potatoes to dig through, you'd never know you needed taller tips. Nils Larsen agrees with you and designed the Kom just like you're asking for. Plus, Alt...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
Voile sells the Vector, Objective, and Charger lines as all arounders. If you want pow skis, buy pow skis! So, V6, V8, Drifter. Also, Voile tests their skis in the Wasatch where powder is dry. No need for high tips in that stuff, kinda like Asnes testing their skis in Norway. Who needs fishscales in...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
1st generation Vectors can be gotten to tip dive, but that has more to do with their stiff camber aft of the bindings. I think. I mount them back an inch or so for tele, it helps.
A taller shovel definitely wouldn't hurt though.

Well...
Voile makes great waxless skis, but even the Objective is awfully wide for springtime skiing.
And Fischer's skis are (I think) much heavier and have too little rocker. Though, I haven't seen them in person.

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
K, there's some explanation required for any of this to make sense. I had an idea, akin to the one that most skis aren't that well suited to skiing deep powder. For that, skiers keep a separate pair better designed for that, 'pow skis'... For me the condition I kept wishing for better was spring ski...

Re: "Stupid" Waxing Question
The pattern I cut into my skis is negative, as you can't add material by machining. Also, the pattern is sort of the inverse of the one on lots of commercially made skis. Hard to explain what I'm saying but the takeaway is that sharpening an existing but worn pattern would be very impractical. By fa...

I, for one, could wait no longer. Used a milling machine to cut the scales, they work very well.
