Re: Telemark Lessons

Gérald Charette is a monitor with a very good reputation; I met him at the Mont Edouard Tele-festival. One of the few CANSI level 3... Another good one from the same school: Gaétan Lord...

Re: Strange XCD setups

I've just finished mounting risers on my Glittertind with... Superloops! I love those... Very smooth to tour but solid when my heel is up in tele stance... Just received a pair of T3, almost new... I'll pair them with the Glitter... and I'll also use my Fuzion.

Re: Telemark Lessons

Who was your monitor at La Réserve?

Next time, you can take course on skinny gear with Triplevé. One of the instructor seems dedicated: Antoine Deslauriers...

Take care.

Re: Why are americans fat?

I was being a bit cheeky, but seriously - what is the REAL point of making turns? It's to control your speed or dodge obstacles. If it wasn't why not just bomb it down everything? Turning on hardpack when there are gates involved is a real sport. It's not just some jerking around weaving back and f...

Re: All Mountain Telemark ski..?

Where are you? East or west? That can change my suggestion a lot...

I would not go too wide... That's a pain on the groomers—I mean skiable, but not as fun as a quick edge to edge ski.
Blizzard Latigo. Not exactly a twin tip though. But it is a ski that seems to fit in a lot of your categories...

Re: I might have some issues

My take is that you do not need a double-camber in the backcountry... And the Fischer and Rossi's are way too stiff cambered. I would go Madshus. I have a pair of Glitter that does it all... Easy to turn, relatively good flotation, lightweight...

Re: Fischer S-Bound 98 or 88?

I would say that you can't make a wrong decision. You will adapt to either skis... Nothing theoretical to it; just a matter of sensations and different ones at that... Unless you are 98 years old, this is not the last pair of skis you will buy... Next year or in a couple of year, you will find somet...

Did you put the center of your boot on that line? You know how to measure center of boot... without the duckbill? Just to be sure that you didn't put pin line on that mark...

Telebry release... loose?

I mounted a pair of Telebry and realized that there is a certain looseness from side to side. Of course, the binding is only connecting through one pivot point... Is that supposed to be that way? Should I replace the inner mechanism (cf picture)?
