I like the Glittertind myself (specially the red version, which seems to be more turn friendly). Gamme 54, E99, all of them are (seem) good choices, regarding your needs (disclaimer: I never skied those 2 last one; I have seen some version of E99 though). Fish, if you consider a pair of Atomic, I might have a suggestion: Atomic Panic... It's pretty cheap, you can assuredly find a new old pair (2012, 2013, 2014...). It is a twin with 87 underfoot. It might be a good compromise.

That fat ski market is just that; another market segment that wasn't covered, giving a good opportunity for the business to make money. Of ourse, there is a use for fat skis; not on groomers though. There is one tool that could take care — it seems — of the bases; it is called Skivision base flattener or something like that... I wonder if it is as good as they claim...
