Re: 3.6 vs 4.1 drill bit

Agree with DNT... What is the ski? Sometimes, you need to drill to find out about the metal retaining plate under the binding location... The makers aren't so specific about it, specially if you take the touring skis; I had once to talk to several different techs from Rossi to figure what was that p...

Re: Scarpa T2s. What Year?

I have two pairs of those and they are still my favorite for back country touring. The next version T2 was red and gained a little weight and stiffness. Then the Eco came next, I believe. Though I don't remember when I got them, I would think they gotta be at least 10 years old. The original liners...

Re: Stiff and soft ski?

Does it have good amount of rocker/early rise in the shovel and is it a powder ski? I've noticed this on several skis. Nope... It's a touring ski! An old Tua Montour that I brought back to life... It probably makes it (soft tail) more manœuvrable in all kinds of condition (woods, bump, etc). But wh...

Re: 3.6 vs 4.1 drill bit

Usually, if you have a metal plate reinforcement, the recommendations will go for 4.1... If the ski is solid wood, it will be 3,6... as simple as that...

Stiff and soft ski?

I'd like to ask you guys a question: for what purpose is a ski soft in the tails but stiff in the tips? I've got one of those...

Thanks!

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Agree with lilcliffy. Long, traditonal, waxable touring skis are the way to go for touring especially in the colder conditions that I experience in SW Montana. Last season I used kick wax on my Asnes to climb/tour instead of skins with good results. I still have environmental concerns with ski wax ...

Rossi BC 110

I have the opportunity to get a pair of those... I had, many years ago a pair of BC 90; they are probably the worst ski I ever had. Stiff & high camber, relatively important sidecut, scales that do not climb... they felt like frankensteinish in design. I wonder about the BC 110; they say low cam...

Re: Telemark Ski and binding question

Plug the holes... Mount the new ones so that you clear at least a cm from old holes... That's it. But that's a crime! You should try those Superloop bindings first! (yellow and black) ;)

If you want to get rid of them, let me know...
