I have a delaminated set of ski's where the grip section is a separate piece of plastic, it is keyed into the the front and back glide surfaces with a puzzle piece pattern. If you trusted your glue technology, transplanting the kick zone from another ski might work.

Winters coming and a set of Rossignol Randonnee's popped up on my radar. I see they made "DAVE'S NORDIC BACKCOUNTRY SKIING PAGE" as "Traditional Touring Ski's". Anyone here remember these? I ended up with a bunch of edged skis to play with but I don't have any wax-less yet. Are they worth picking up?

Good hardware stores have sheets of orange hard rubber gasket material in different thicknesses. I might try and cut a larger piece to pad the bindings bail, and attach with zipties when in use.
