Re: quiver

Love those Voile skis!

I tried to get into more XC, faster kick and glide set ups, but they aren’t so much faster after all, and way more sensitive to bad conditions. That said, I don’t do XC groomers, and the snow conditions tend to deep or coral reef around here.

Re: Telehiro and B-Tele Discussion

I read this whole thread over days…. Whew. I’d say a lot didn’t make sense, sorry. The B tele school seems rooted in Japanese culture, the zen mentality etc. which makes it rather mysterious. But the mechanics seem to really boil down to a few things to focus on. High stance, little up/down movement...

Re: Telehiro and B-Tele Discussion

Nice skiing above.

I was trying the B tele focus while alpine skiing steep groomers. “Straight down the fall line, pivot and skid, less about turning.” Seems cool…Very different from the two footed carve.

Re: Switchback rods for a 27 shell?

Let us know if ever you get it sorted! I have no problem yet use them much looser than the suggested pre load with T4s

Re: meidio3 trouble

Ahh. Poo.

Meidjo sounds like nirvana, light and releasable both. Gateway to NTN. Tempting but hmmmm.

I’m still on 75 mm. Did a 12 mile tour today on switchbacks and T4s, pretty good
although snow wasn’t quite good enough for a bunch of turn linkage descent.

Re: Telehiro and B-Tele Discussion

Oh my…. A lot in this thread…. Will have to read…. From reviewing that B tele wiki…. I think the crux is he’s changing mental focus from turning to braking, which is normally skidding. We often think of turning to check speed, which isn’t altogether wrong, turn out of the fall line. However Telehiro...

Re: Switchback rods for a 27 shell?

"Good luck with the shorter rods Phoenix, let us know how it goes." Voile's support was stellar, as always. Swapped out the standard rods for short ones, got them nicely adjusted, went for a trial tour... Much to my dismay, ten minutes into touring on a groomed trail, I did a completely un-instigat...

Re: 2024 Quiver

@fisheater yeah the Ingstads with AT is an experiment which involves finding the best single ski for long distance lightweight arctic travel where I will be bringing kites to kite-ski when the wind is good. Most people use heavy alpine skis for kiteskiing, and for expeditions will also bring a seco...

Re: Switchback rods for a 27 shell?

Ran into similar problem today, so piggybacking here. Bought hardwires off marketplace to swap NNN off my guides. The barrels on the hardwires are too short for my t4 but ok for my alico arctic. Assuming a fix for this is to swap out the hardwires out of my switchbacks with the longer rods when nee...
