Re: Boot Review: 2018 Crispi Svartisen BC

I have been told that the Lofoten is the same boot as the Stetind, with an added instep strap. Do you know if this is true? Or is the Lofoten the same boot as the Svartisen without the powerstrap? LC, I somehow recall reading from someone in the business that these are 3 entirely different designs....

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

What I have read here and there is that the Mohair skins glide pretty well, particularly after impregnating (with molten glider wax at lowish temperature). I would be surprised if they glide as well as waxless scales, but I will find out next season. Mohair glides great over many types of snow but ...

Re: Skis Stuck In Sweden - how to get them to the USA?

Fed Ex sounds like the plan, i got a pair shipped from the USA to CANADA that way. under 200cm only is to be expected with conventional post services.

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Hey T, You should try the Asnes Ingstad (84-62-74) even though it is in the E109 range, I think you will love it. Anything wider at Asnes will be beyond your 88-90 limit, with more downhill oriended sidecuts. Still, I would take a good look at the Asnes Falketind 62 (97-62-86), its slightly outside ...

Yeah, you could probably jab at a woolly mammoth with those pole and win. I love the picture, the knickers and those high ankle leathers. Have a nice summer guys!

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

It’s great to get next year’s catalogue and see what’s coming. However, I was intrigued to read their binding recommendations as you go up in waist width. Up to the Rabb 68 it’s 75mm/bc Magnum/tech, from there on it’s only tech. Perhaps by “tech” they also include TTS and Meidjo/Lynx. Tho’ folks ar...

IDK Woods, All I can see is a wood core fulllength metal edge BC ski that weighs only 825grams at 200cm. Man oh man, I have to chat with Børge Ousland.

Re: How to tele: 3-pin only

80 at the waist sound like a lot of ski for a basic 3-pin setup but its doable, heck, a few brave men here are teleing those with NNN-BC. Would something like the Madshus Annum or Voile Objective do? You did not mention, are you talking about using leather boots here or a plastic shell boot? Are you...

Re: Fischer Excursion 88 vs Outtabounds - Newb

Hi Z, my 2cent rant: being honest about what I was doing.. mostly touring up to come down... As you have been figuring, the 88s is a more highly cambered TOURING ski (with enough sidecut for decent turning control). Nobody said XCD is easy. particularly telemarking on more XCish type skis. You need ...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Double thumbs up for Asnes and their awesome customer service. My older Asnes skis had a delam problem and they have been SWIFTLY replaced with a new pair of Ingstad BC!
