Re: Hagan Off Trace Skis

LJ, after my last comment, I went out on a search to confirm my suspicions only to be confirmed by a sales rep website somewhere is new england or so that the Alpina ski is actually made by Sporten. the only difference is the cosmetics. They also produce downhill skis for a lot of companys. My guess...

Re: Hagan Off Trace Skis

Hummm...I will mention these again here (because I did last year but it did not seem to impress). Sporten skis have been available locally here in eastern Québec for the last few years. Their RANGER ski has the same specs at the Hagan. I'm now wondering, could these be made by the same factory? I dr...

Why kind of grease do you suggest? I have Ghee, Vaseline, food-grade machine and bike grease at home right now! ;)

Re: Asnes Tind 76 / 85

Al - same here! My bunions and width are so bad that plastic boots are also very difficult. No, the Lundhags are not available in the US, they have to be ordered from Germany. as I've posted before my solution for nordic ski touring was welted leathers on 75mm soles and a massive stretching with th...

Re: New Alpina Alaska NNN BC HEATED BOOTS!

Cool. But that is a really high ankle. Given how cushy the alaskas are though, it might not be an issue.

I have not had frozen toe issues with my alpinas, even though i ski in the COLD. So i won't be buying these though. I'm 90% 3pin too now so....

Re: Waxable E109...

@Rodbelan, Hi Rod! I've tried these before and IMO they are more XC oriented than the new Xlite version. Similarly to the newer version, I believe they were sized 10cm shorter than their E99 counterparts which are full length XC. They are a stiff ski but with a softer, albeit very long wax pocket wh...

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 boots

I have seen/read/viewed evidence of EVERY current-model glued 3-pin BC-XCD boot coming apart- after very limited use. And- despite the build quality of Alfa and Crispi- I doubt VERY much that the Svartisen 75mm and the Quest Advance 75mm will prove to be any more durable than the 3-pin offerings fr...
