Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Is that NNNBC at a ski area? They probably don't see that very often! Looks like a great place with tons of snow.

Re: Fischer S Bound 98 and Madshus Epoch

IMO any adult man should not have E99/Glitt type skis below 200cm, totally disagree with Barnett there. 200cm is a short length for these. You need 205 or 210 to glide and float well. Sounds like the 180's are totally overwhelmed by your weight. I find E99's to turn fairly easily due to their soft t...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

good job Woods, 4000 vertical, where did you come down? I hid inside the house yesterday with the windows closed to keep the hot air out! Today's avy report was a little more optimistic on the snowpack: >>>Our snowpack is really deep right now despite the recent warm weather. Copious amounts of snow...

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 boots

150 days out of a boot is not bad at all, if that's what you get it's not a bad deal. The thinner glued-on NNNBC or 75mm do give you a slight weight savings over the Antarctic. Re-soling the 75mm is great but you need a cobbler you can trust, if they don't have the skills for it the fit will change....

What about Haystack? Doesn't it have more ski lines? I thought one side of Marcy had a bowl on it? Guess not.

The story didn't end there! Good news, Neptune was bought in Februrary and will continue under local ownership: http://www.denverpost.com/2017/02/15/neptune-mountaineering-boulder-local-ownership/ Edit: Eric Schmidt, the new manager, just let me know that the Asnes lineup will be fully stocked at Ne...

Re: 2015 Åsnes Combat NATO

I just discovered why Neptune Mountaineering didn't stock Asnes this year - the parent company is going bankrupt. No money to order inventory, not good. It sounds like the store was sold to a corporation that then ran it into the ground. Dan, the guy in the videos, Sourdough trail, etc., has already...

Re: 2015 Åsnes Combat NATO

I was thinking of your 210's last week while skiing some bottomless heavy snow. My 210 E99's were floating me up for the most part, but I thought about having 210 Ingstad's and easy it would be. They're probably about the same weight as my old E99's. When it comes time to order I'll be torn between ...

Re: 2015 Fischer E-109 Tour Easy-Skin

The length of these skis affects how they work too - if you want an E99 that climbs well, the 205cm would do better than 210, and the 200cm even better. I know because a few years ago I bought a lot of 2010ish E99's through ebay in 200, 205, and 210 and skied them all! My weight crushed the camber f...
