Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

I think Neptune sold the last of the white NATO skis, maybe more came in this year, I don't want to call & bother them when I know I'm not ordering! Looks like they definitely re-stocked as they have the mohair skins which they didn't carry last year. Do a search on the word "Asnes" an...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

I think Neptune has them, I was able to place 200cm Nansen in my cart and go to checkout. I'm guessing it's this year's version because the Ingstad is referred to as "very light" and costs more than Nansen. It's pricey compared to Craigslist, transfer station freebies, etc. but if you're th...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

I think he's joking about the price. I was able to score my pair of Nato Combat (same as last year's Ingstad) for $300 shipped from Neptune Mountaineering. Here you go Teleman, looks like Neptune does have some Asnes this year - the pics are of last year's skis. Nansens only $370 shipped. Either Nan...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

OMG, do NOT run those new Asnes over the rocks! I cringe at the thought of it. So what bindings did you use? let me take a wild guess....NNNBC. I've noticed before how Asnes seems to design all their BC/Fjell skis with BP and CC at the same point, which gives them a great feel for both XC for turns....

Re: Do we really need all that sidecut for powder skiing?

I agree, I never got on board the "shaped" ski revolution, but at 22cm I don't mind the Ingstad sidecut, that is the deepest of any of my skis and the acceptable limit. I'm not in bottomless powder often though.

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

nice picture, the edges do look solid! There must be a lot of rocks in Norway. They did something to lighten the Ingstad, it's listed at 1950 grams and the Combat NATO at 2400 right? They were both 2400 grams last year. Maybe the pawlonia wood is lighter? The new Ingstad is the same weight as ...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

How is the edge thickness (width) compared to your other Asnes models? Wondering if they used thinner ones to get the weight down. I'm guessing the Ingstad is better for deep power and the Combat NATO better for ice and rocks.

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

great pictures of the rocker! I didn't understand what it meant until now. I can check my Gammes to see how they compare. It's worth pointing out that the prior version of this ski is still available in the NATO Combat. So Asnes has added a completely new ski to the lineup without getting rid of the...
