Re: Cleaning up/waxing old Fischers

Hmmmmm....definitely pre-2010 vintage. Maybe early 2000's?? They look great, such a versatile ski, I still have 2 pairs.

Re: the magic and power of grip wax

so true about the snow being colder than the air! You have to be aware of the previous night's low temp, the snowpack stays cold. Also true about needing to ski a little bit before the wax starts to work right - I assume this is because the base of the ski is cooling down to the temp of the snow for...

Re: NNNBC boot for wide feet

agree, I had a pair of BC1600 and they were really nice boots, a bit wider than the Alaska. But the widest NNNBC I have tried, and also the best quality by far, was the Lundhags, they have to be ordered from Europe: http://www.lundhags.com/Products/Nordic-Skating/Tour-Skate-Boot I eventually migrate...

great pictures! The new skis look good, I've got a pair of them too. just FYI, on fresh dry snow some wax like Swix F4 or Maxiglide can really help a fishscale ski to glide faster and work better. The downhills always feel awkward compared to alpine gear. My technique is to either snowplow or jam my...

you won't be disappointed - great all-around ski that also gives you a fishscale ski for warmer temps.

Re: Another new guy saying hi!

I have the Sbound 78's but two things have changed since I bought them - the new ones have more camber and shorter length, mine are 199cm. I like my Sbound 78's a lot, but today I'd probably take 88's. They have less camber and a wider, turnier ski is what I want at 189. The Sbound 78's won't glide ...

Re: Skis too long?

If I'm not mistaken these are straight-ahead, cross-country type skis and therefore 200cm should be perfect for your size and weight.
