Re: The Åsnes Thread

nice, I always like to save a kronos or two when possible! I don't like the forced-NNN BC bindings though - looks like the don't start using Super Tele until you get to Falktind. Maybe you can request Super Tele on the other ones.

Re: Scales vs. Kicker-Skins

I don't feel bad about standard non-fluorinated kick wax, I don't think there's much bad for the environment in there right???

Re: Alico Nordic March sizing

mine are UK 12 wide, which corresponds to the US 13 wide or 47's I usually wear. I have wide toe box w/ bunions and sknny heels, the heel/ankle is way too wide for me. That's why I'm getting a pair of buckles installed over the instep, hopefully it will help seal the boot down over my ankle. The toe...

Re: Åsnes Gamme

sounds wonderful, thanks for the report. I'd love to get a pair of 200's to go with my 210's. I really liked the pair of 200 E99's I had with scales, way easier to turn than the 210's. I wish Gamme came in 205, that is the length I would prefer.

They're similar but I find the Gamme has a stiffer, more solid feeling. It could be from the thicker edges. I don't have...

Re: Best ski for Nnn-BC xcD

I've got 210cm Gamme and I really like my 200cm Nato Combat skis for turns or deeper snow. Many people use NNNBC on Instad/NATO or Asnes Nansen. Depends on what you plan to do with the skis. A 190cm pair of Gamme may not be a bad idea either. I have different lengths of E99 and they behave very diff...

Re: Traverse 78

Morrottos, wow, it's hard to believe there is a tele ski that didn't make it into Pinnah's list: http://web.archive.org/web/20151002150930/http://home.comcast.net/~pinnah/DirtbagPinner/dirtbag.html I like both the 78's and E99's too, they're both good. The E99's are better in XC mode where the Trave...

Re: North Country Scenic Trail

thanks for the report, wow that's a long way to pull a sled, you must have slept well!

It looks warm....what did you have on the bottom of those skis to get the traction to pull the sled?

Re: Åsnes Gamme

nice report and welcome! I have 210 Gamme from a couple years ago, they were made in Czech Republic, interesting that they moved production to Sweden. Nansen is said to have a telemark flex and I think it's aimed more at turning with the deep sidecut. FWIW I find the NATO Combat much easier to turn ...
