Re: Hé Ben, Bri7, Johnny... the Alfa holy grail, just for you, 30$

Sounds like you have enjoyed you winter retreat. Welcome back. Thank you very much! But that was just a brief outing to update my reviews after a whole season... I had so much fun on all these Asnes masterpieces... Back to my cave now... ;) (I might be back again this summer when the new 2020 Asnes...

Asnes Falketind 62 versus Rabb 68

Rabbs.jpg It’s the question people have been asking me since I first posted my review of the Rabb 68 . So Johnny, what is the difference between the Rabb 68 and the Falketind 62? They are very similar, yet they can be used for several different things. They are the closest brothers of the Tind Fami...

Re: New Asnes WL Waxless Skis 2018-2019 Ingstad WL & Nansen WL

They are both very nice. To me it seems like the Asnes scales are smoother, offering a slightly better glide, while the Offtrack offers a tad more grip... But it's hard to tell for me since my Ingstad and Nansen WLs are much narrower than my Offtrack skis...

Re: skis for making miles

The best skis I know for distance oriented tours:

Asnes Mountain Race 48 Skin
Asnes Mountain Tour 51 WL

Super fast, super light, and both waxless. Think about the Fischer SuperLite series but with more stability and 3/4 metal edges... Similar to the Gamme, but much softer and lighter...

Re: Asnes Mountain Tour 51

They went against the prevailing trend of extra-long, aggressive grip patterns. It seems they prioritized glide over grip, which is cool because you can attach kicker skins for more grip. The scales glide way better than the 30mm mohair skin, no question. The skin does grip a little better, especia...

Re: Hé Ben, Bri7, Johnny... the Alfa holy grail, just for you, 30$

Aggressive turns?!? Aggressivity and stiffness are for madmen and thugs. Poles apart from the very essence of telemark. Everybody knows XCD is all about softness, technique, grace and finesse... Not aggressivity and stiffness... 8-) It's no surprise that some people are destroying their boots or nee...

Re: Telemark Skimo racing (was: 3-pin Racing)

I got the sens...

Re: Asnes Tindan 86 Ski Review

TINDAN 86 At last, those dream skis: the ones you can use both for long hikes in the pristine spring snow and exhilarating arcs on the groomed powder. Oooooops! Sorry, I didn't notice that! I like my powder untouched, I had absolutely no idea that people were actually skiing groomed powder ... Woaa...

Re: Asnes Tindan 86 Ski Review

My verdict after one season: The Tindan is freaking awesome. The most sensual and passionate ski for everything powder. Groomed powder? What the heck is that? From an alpine and modern tele perspective, the Tindan is a nice all-mountain ski. But from the XCD perspective, the Tindan is a pure p...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 Ski Review

My verdict after one season: The Rabbs are freaking awesome. From backcountry pow to frontside groomers, they are truly amaaaaazing. As I have said before: You know that nice surfy and turny feeling of big, heavy, oversized fat rockered skis? Well, you can now get this same feeling on a super light ...
