Re: 3 pin or tts?

Do you think a ski like the Annum is manageable with NNN-BC? Obviously ability, conditions, and boot play a big role in the answer. I would love to know if folks think this is reasonable. Of course they are... Skiing Annums on NNNBC is *super* easy. The system can actually handle a lot more than th...

Re: Rossi BC 110

Seriously, the only waxless skis on the market worth skiing are the Asnes, Fischer and Voile ones. They know what they're doing. Don't waste your money on cheap Chinese crap. This is not 1995 anymore. We're in 2018 now, there is so much more to life than cheap 20yo Karhu Guide clones. I had 2 pairs ...

Re: Rossi BC 110

Crappy, heavy, overpriced and made in China... (Sounds exactly like everything Bri7 likes... Half kidding... ;) )

Save your pennies and get yourself some real skis... 8-)

Re: updated Fischer site

It looks like... Nothing new at all...? SOS? Same Old Skis? Oh wait, cyan and yellow paint, sorry... The upcoming Asnes RABB, with the same waist as the S98, is wider, lighter and probably less expensive than the new S-98... While the S98 is offering slightly opened tips for " Hardcore skiers &...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Looking forward to compare your ST vs the new Rabbs! The Storetind is waaaay stiffer than either the Epoch/XCD 10th Mtn, or the S-98- but, with all of that tip rocker and a bit of tail rocker + camber underfoot, the ST is both better in deep soft snow and on hardpack/ice/difficult snow than either. ...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Oh, what you say totally makes sense... As it's the exact opposite of me, from the DH point of view... :D For deep snow xcD, I prefer the Epoch over the S98 because of that softer flex... While I prefer the S98 for harder / uncertain snow... But hey, not having alpine style rocker tips on these 20yo...

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Perhaps it would be easier to score if the two dimensions were scored separately- rather than as a ratio? Oh! A much better system already! I love it! Let's add this to all our new reviews...! * The S98 is quite a special ski. I would actually give it a impossible 30/90 XC/D ratio... This may have ...

Re: Telemark Ski and binding question

Like they say... You can put any bindings on anything... You might have a hard time trying to figure out the sweet spot for alpine though... Not sure you can find boot center marking on those (very nice!) oldies, and not sure the narrowest point would help... Better learn telly... ;) Hey, drop me a ...

Re: Seeking advice for mounting BD-01 bindings on Voile Busters

Greetings! (EDIT: Oops, I just found a similar thread further down about mounting 3-pin bindings on Voile Objective skis. There is some additional info there about the relationship between the boot center and 3-pin lines that may help me out. I like this forum -- lots of good info lurking here!) Ye...

Re: homemade skis

Yep, very inspiring indeed! There is too much tech in regular long skis for me to get involved into something like this, it would turn out a mess. But for straight skishoes, I might give it a try in the next months... I am already thinking about a pair of straight hunters made of maple, with live ed...
