Re: Grip waxing fishscale bases?

I never do... Because I prefer to zig-zag my way up with scales... (on any slopes up to 45 degrees...) Wax would be hard to cork in waxless base... What I do when I need more traction or I don't feel like zigzaging is just add kickers... But not on the scales or the kick zone, but rather in front of...

Re: Ski Movies

^^^^ Backyard skiing at its best! Anything involving skiing on two planks should simply be called "Winter Sports"... No matter what you do or how you do it, it's all about having fun out of your back door! 8-) Skiing Tuckerman Ravine in 1938: https://www.facebook.com/AppalachianMountainClu...

Re: Asnes New X-Skin System Review (Nylon, Mohair and Race)

A little update on the X-Skins... After a couple of days in different kinds of snow, I have to say that the glide on the Nylon / Synthetic X-Skins is quite terrible (Nothing unexpected here from any nylon skins from any company.) As reported by other forum users in the past, they just do not glide. ...

Re: 2017 WoodenSki dot com inventory is up

Apparently, some Sohler skis were made in Germany, some in Canada and some right here in Richford, VT...!

Funny, I didn't ask but the lady who sold me the Sohlers mentioned she was selling them only because she stopped skiing "a few years ago"...

Re: NNNBC boot replacement

Hey that's an idea... Never thought about it, I might give it a try... Plus, women's boots are always more colorful... But my BOF might be too large too... So we have the same feet...? 8-)

Re: NNNBC boot replacement

Try to convince the Fey Bros or LaCordee to carry the Lofoten GTX BC so I can buy a pair too... ;)

I need a pair of shoes with a buckle at the instep to prevent heel lift from my skinny feet... And I'm too afraid to mess up my Alaska BCs to try adding a ratcheting buckle myself...

Re: riser plates in the backcountry?

I'm an ol' weak muscled girly-man wuss and therefor I enjoy active bindings and cables. Same situation here... Except for the last part... ;) I'd rather take my time and feel everything... I ski super fast on plastics... But when it comes to leathers and XCD, I'm slow, super slow... And I really li...
