Hi Cima,
Cool- where in the world did you get those robo-tele videos?

Re: Fischer E89 Crown
The effects could also be compounded by the snow conditions. You spoke of traction a little bit...I know that if I am slipping a lot- my feet get sore and cramped up- I end up over-compensating with my pole plant (exhausting). For example- I went out yesterday morning for a quick cruise on my Eons (...

Re: Fischer E89 Crown
Hey MikeK, This could be a product of your switch to a system binding (i.e. NNNBC). The system bindings allow the complete extension of your foot through the stride- right to your toes. (this is at least one of the reasons why NNN/SNS offers higher performance efficiency than 75mm-NN) At the beginni...

Re: Tell us about yourself
Hi Everyone, I am 41 years old (Oct. 25, 1973). My wife and I have 4 children at home- oldest is 12- youngest is 14 months. We have 3 dogs (2 border collies; one Australian shepherd (very different breeds by the way- to my surprise)); and plans to expand our little homestead farming to production sh...

Re: NNNBC-Magnum
and what works for Alpine skiing DOES NOT work for Nordic. There might be some slight, slight similarities in parallel turning and stems, but even those require so much more balance and commitment on Nordic gear. Couldn't agree with you more MikeK- but I do think that the introduction of heavier an...

Re: NNNBC-Magnum
Another excellent video clip CIMA- and beautiful technique. You can really see the use of your rear leg on that snow surface and terrain. I agree with you- Barnett doesn't have a lot to say about the rear telemark ski in his book- except to say that the weight and pressure on the rear leg depends on...

Re: Long winded Fischer S Bound 78
Woodserson,
Just wondering- what type terrain and snow conditions do you find the S-78 most effective on?
Also- why did you choose the relatively short length?

Re: Fischer S Bound 98 and Madshus Epoch
lilcliffy, I don't want to go much bigger than the 98's because then what's really the point to have the no-wax gription base with anything bigger? I might as well break out some of my old fat skis, or get a Fischer TransAlp, and throw some pins on those, or an AT binding and get back into the alpi...

Re: Fischer E89 Crown
Just what I expected...I have not tried the current E89...but the current Fischer Backcountry line is much stiffer than the Madshus: Voss versus E89; Glittertind versus E99; Eon versus E109 (even though the Eon doesn't really fit this group)... I think you are right. The Madshus design is much more ...

NNNBC-Magnum
I suppose that I should perhaps consider not giving my review of the NNNBC binding. Having done a little leisurely reading- it appears that NNNBC versus 3 pin-75mm NN can spark much heated debate. There is no question that the 75mm binding is more versatile- ranging from classic xcountry to big moun...
