Voile comparison-contrast

Just read the other thread on the Switchback vs. the Switchback x2. What are the performance differences between the Voile Telemark bindings? 1) 3-pin cable/traverse (3PC) 2) 3-pin hardwire (3PH) 3) Switchback (SB) 4) Switchback x2 (SBX2) I have personal experience with the 3-pin cable and the 3-pin...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

STG,
Well said and very true.
Safety in the wilderness is job #1.
It is amazingly easy to die in the backcountry- especially when you add winter weather conditions to the mix.

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

Hey man, I love my current E109- I have a long-term review on the review board: http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1278 I don't think that the E109 is poorly constructed. I do not think it is as heavily built as earlier models- I have no idea how it will hold up in terms of durabil...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

Vote Trump while at it!!!!! TM Good Morning TM, This has nothing to do with Woods' post and discussion- let alone any discussion about skiing. If you want to discuss politics please do it somewhere else- or at least, on the "off-topic" board: http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewforum.php?f=10...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

Running a T4 on everything I am still leary of anything more than a 100 underfoot for me. Maybe if I went really short? It would be a lot of $ to experiment. I'm not sold. I think I can do everything I want to do with a high-90 waist. This makes sense to me too. Voile describe's the V6 as an "...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

I think there is a place for a mid-60 ski, a mid-80 ski, and then a fat ski. Yeah- with you here. Though to be honest- I am so impressed with stability and supportiveness of my Storetind that I think it stretches into the domain of a mid-80 ski... I think it depends on the climate- when I consider ...

sidewall vs. cap; polyurethane vs. ABS

So at some point- when my children are older- I will be planning big mountain ski trips again and looking for big mountain ski touring equipment. At this point, the two ski manufacturers that I am most enamored with are Volie and G3. Voile uses cap construction for their skis. G3 uses sidewall const...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

The FT 62 does not have near as much camber as your Storetind. This is interesting..The FT62 is a very unique ski in the current market- the camber/rocker/flex profile of a backcountry downhill touring ski- but with width dimensions and weight that would make them very easy to drive with XC boots.....

Re: The Åsnes Thread

Great to hear that Asnes is still going strong! I must admit I prefer the graphics/colours of the previous models... I wonder if they are going to keep making the FT62? That would likely be my next purchase- with NNNBC on deck. Also want to try the edgeless Kongsvold... And- of course, the new Ingst...
