Re: Asnes USGI Combat Skis

That boot, binding and ski combination is wicked- you will love it- fast, smooth, snappy and stable.

Re: Hi from Alaska and some questions

Welcome AKjohn! I found a new looking used set of Madshus Epoch 195's with Voile 3-pin with cable bindings that I picked up for $250. I am 5'7" 175 the skis might be oversized but I figure most of the time it will be overnighters or hunting trips so with gear, it should put me past the min weig...

Re: BC90/Excursion 88 binding suggestions.

I'm leaning towards the bc90, but I am struggling with the binding and boot combo. Beautiful off-track touring ski. I am considering using the nnn bc magnum binding to use with my Fischer bcx boot or alpina Alaska toebar. I would rate the Fischer BCX5 in the same class as the Alpina Alaska NNNBC. T...

Re: NNNBC boot for wide feet

Measure the distance from the outside corner of your heel, up and over your instep, and back to the opposite corner of your heel. If this measurement is longer than the length of your foot (i.e. Mondopoint measurement), than you may well find a better fit using your instep measurement, than your foo...

Re: Alpine Touring/Telemark skis- grip wax versus scales?

I guess I have always considered these skis too wide for skiing on-piste locally. My local hill is steep- only 260m vertical- and the conditions are typically hard and icy. Even the 84mm of the longest Objective is wider than I would typically want on my local hill...

Re: Altai Skis Hok Review

So- I pulled the NNNBC binding off my Hoks last night, and re-mounted the X-Trace universal binding. It is not that I didn't like NNNBC on this ski. I eventually decided that I wanted the versatility of the universal binding- especially when I take the Hok to work. Also- although I like my XC boot o...

Re: Altai Skis Hok Review

I have previous gen 145cm Hok- the steel edges are the same, they extend to the base of the raised tip.

This makes sense! Would be interested in what you think of your waxless E99s versus the 78.

I can barely use my waxless E99s- too little grip...
