Is your issue with the nylon loop on the new Skaget that you cannot get your heel properly seated in the boot?

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
@lilcliffy SEPAQ's website mentions 435 total snow in 2024 at high elevation and 200cm in the valley. But they don't mention mm of rain! And we had plenty this winter... including last night. Yesterday, it was forecasting snow at the end of the week. Now it's forecasting rain. Anyway, I can't do mu...

Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
JB TELE Don't know where your most recent post went... To clarify- I don't mean to give the impression that I think the S-Bound 98 is a great downhill ski on hardpack. The S98 is clearly a cambered, wide, compact, curvy XC ski. Much like the Karhu/Madshus XCD line (ie M62/68/78)- I would expect the...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
You beat me to it Bob! Agree- I have had no issues with the lacing on the Alaska or the Skaget boot. I do like the low locking cleat on the Skaget, so I have no personal experience as to the loss of it, and its replacement with the nylon lace loop... I love the lacing system on the Alaska- both the ...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
To me, the problem in the lacing system is the little polyester band between both locking eyelets. Maybe it's me and the fact that I couldn't use my new boots much, but I have a hard time to lock my feet and ankle as tight as I want without removing the lace from the polyester band. I would have pr...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
André18 Oh- Monts-Valin! Magnifique! The last time I was at Monts-Valin was on Christmas Day 2011- All of the cabins in parc were booked- so, we got up early, hiked up the north face with our skis on our pack- ski toured at high elevation and then skied down the backside (on the sled track) at dusk...

Re: Alfa Skaget Perform review 2021->
I have not treated Skaget yet, but will have to and plan to do so. From you picture above it looks to saturate the leather well. It should solve water proofing and be renewable, unlike a punctured Gore-Tex (or similar) membrane. Do you treat the textile fabric too? I haven't treated the textile fab...

Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
How do you think the S98 would stack up against my Ingstads for such rolling BC tours with turns? I saw what you wrote a few years ago about the Ingstad being much better for downhills than the 88s, but what about the S98s, are they a more even match? Interesting question! I am bit surprised by how...
