Re: A vid for you twisted minimalist typos

Beautiful terrain and snow. Absolutely spectacular.

BUT- oh the horror! They are using Alpine turns! ;)

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Nice. Very nice. Love your Swiss flag on the tip- think I noticed one on your Kom tip too...
(I need to get me some Welsh dragon decals for my skis...)

Man- I love my E99s- was out on them for a good 3 hours today.

Re: the magic and power of grip wax

So- I have a number of Nordic touring skis waxed up at the moment: 1) 210cm Asnes Combat Nato: Swix Polar ironed and buffed into the entire base- kick wax on top (in the kick zone). 2) 205cm Madshus Eon Wax: Swix Polar ironed and buffed into the entire base- kick wax on top (in the kick zone). 3) 21...

Re: the magic and power of grip wax

In order try and keep myself straight on describing this: When I say "kick wax" I am speaking of grip wax applied to the kick zone of the ski- intended to provide grip on the snow temperature of the day. When I speak of "grip wax" I am speaking of grip wax in general- applied any...

Is this important anymore?

I sent an email to Asnes for some clarification on the FT62 vs. FT68- and, specifically the function of the track groove!

Re: Falketind 62 Review

Hello Gareth, that is my son Nick. He is as tall as me at fifteen. I mounted a three pin cable, without risers, pins on balance point. I reasoned that there was no need for a riser plate at 62 mm under foot. It was also my thought that at least for kick and glide a ski with a lot of sidecut and rel...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

Do they have a track groove? Is this important anymore? I guess it depends on design intent and use. A track groove certainly helps a ski's tracking when XC skiing. The FT62 is certainly different than the FT68 (which is the redesigned Storetind)- the FT62 appears to have a track groove in the phot...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

Bob- this is fantastic information. Excellent photos BTW- is that your boy?- look at the rocker on those sticks!!!! I have a number of questions and comments- will come back to this later in the day when I have more time to comb through your excellent observations on this ski. You mounted the 3-pin ...

Re: Ski Review: Altai Kom 162cm

I will say I personally don't like the action/feeling of the free-pivot binding on something like this ski but this is a personal touchy-feeling thing of course. I have been very well served by the Traverse binding and my next KOM will definitely get Hardwires for the steeper down and to add more c...
