Re: Falketind 62 Review

Hey Bob,
When you get a chance give those sweet FT62s a good squeeze for me.
I am wondering how resistant they are underfoot...

Re: Ski Review: Åsnes Storetind

Just came up from the basement- comparing the Storetind to a number of my skis- including the 2018 Ingstad... I have actually changed my mind on the underfoot camber-flex of this ski- I think it is better described and understood as camber-and-a-half ski underfoot! The Storetind has every bit as muc...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

Just came up from the basement- some more notes: The camber and flex of this new Ingstad and my Storetinds are actually pretty damn close... The Ingstad is only slightly more cambered underfoot than the Storetind. But- here's the "kicker"- I think that the Storetind has every bit as much u...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

The original Ingstad was exactly the same as the Combat Nato. So you're saying that the old Ingstad/NATO was softer and now the tips are stiffer than the original one to compensate for the rocker? Very, very interesting...! Makes me wanna get my hands on the Combats to feel the difference... My Com...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC 2018 Ski Review

I have a set of 2018 195cm Asnes Ingstad BC skis in my kitchen! They are beautifully crafted- a work of art really- with thick full-wrap metal edges, sintered bases, and solid wood cores- the paulownia-poplar core makes this ski almost ridiculously lightweight! NNNBC-Manual bindings are going on the...

Voile comparison-contrast

Just read the other thread on the Switchback vs. the Switchback x2. What are the performance differences between the Voile Telemark bindings? 1) 3-pin cable/traverse (3PC) 2) 3-pin hardwire (3PH) 3) Switchback (SB) 4) Switchback x2 (SBX2) I have personal experience with the 3-pin cable and the 3-pin...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

STG,
Well said and very true.
Safety in the wilderness is job #1.
It is amazingly easy to die in the backcountry- especially when you add winter weather conditions to the mix.

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

Hey man, I love my current E109- I have a long-term review on the review board: http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1278 I don't think that the E109 is poorly constructed. I do not think it is as heavily built as earlier models- I have no idea how it will hold up in terms of durabil...
