Re: Do I need a rebar?

HA! Working from home today- just leaned over and checked my Alaskas- more wear on exactly the same side! 8-)

Re: Do I need a rebar?

Looking at that photo- appear that there is more wear on one side than the other?

Re: Satchel’s Neophyte Nordic Backcountry Adventure Thread

Your family and day-to-day life situation resonates. I have 4 children at home- ranging from 4 to 15 years old. Our 5-year-old son is autistic and non-verbal- he requires 24/7 supervision- and. not the kind of supervision that is easy to come by. I have no problems asking my two older children to lo...

Re: Satchel’s Neophyte Nordic Backcountry Adventure Thread

Wonderful, beginning to your ski log Satchel! (I greatly appreciate the photos- I must admit that I am useless when it comes to taking photos- my wife is always after me to do it- the only camera I own is my phone, and by the time I get out on my skis, I am so socially exhausted that I want nothing ...

Re: Care and maintenance of plastic boots

I certainly think maintaining the leather portions of composite boots makes sense- if not the leather will dry out and crack, and it may end up pinching your foot... I really don't know if there is a way to maintain the synthetic parts of the uppers...The plastic is eventually going to breakdown and...

Re: the magic and power of grip wax

My success with Nordic touring and XCDiing grip waxing keeps improving- the more I leave glide wax out of the recipe.

My last test is hard glide wax on the tail only- not sure yet if it is any better than grip wax on the entire base...

Re: Yet Another Madshus Eon Review

Wicked. I have now grip-waxed the entire base of my Eon Wax- amazing grip and glide. My 15-year-old son (who is just about to get taller than me! ) has finally said goodbye to his beloved 165cm Epochs- he loves the Eon. Now he just needs to learn to do a bit of kick waxing (he went out with to...

Re: Alpina Alaska NNNBC

BTW- I recently tried on a new pair of Alaskas- blown away by how much stiffer they are than my broken in pair. HOWEVER- the sole-flex of my broken-in Alaskas is still more supportive than a softer-flexing boot like the Rossi BCX6.(my son has a brand new pair). And my broken-in pair of Rossi BCX6 ha...
