Re: Vector replacement- ideas? V6/UltraVector something else?

I'm at 180lbs and ski the 180 Vectors. I feel that they are the appropriate size for my mass. I don't think I would want them any longer...

Re: New Alpina Alaska NNN BC HEATED BOOTS!

I live and ski in a VERY cold part of the US. I use the regular Alaskas and they are almost too warm in every condition that I've used them in. Add a heater to that equation, and the result for me is sweaty-soaked feet. If it's THAT cold or the skier has that poor circulation, there probably won't b...

Re: Tele vs parallel.

Tele turns on tele gear can have plenty of power to 'carve' turns. I p-turn on occasion on tele when tired, but really don't like p-turns on tele gear. It's not really very stable and plus, that's what alpine gear is for.

Re: How was your season?

How was MY season? Piss poor by normal standards around here. Little snow, not cold. Started late, ended early. The silver lining was that, although the snow was never very deep, the quality of the snow was great 90% of the time. I usually get 80+ days but this season was more like 50-60.

Re: which ski climbs best

The Koms climb on par with the Vectors. Much better than the Rossis and the Annums IMO.

Re: Altai Kom skis

I'm pretty sure the Vectors have a carbon layer as well. My understanding of the difference between the Vectors and V6s is that the Vectors are straighter and stiffer while the v6 is softer, and, in Voile's words, "more playful" than the Vectors. Whatever that means...

Re: Altai Kom skis

LC, I would seriously consider the HW (or just a regular 3-pin) over the SB bindings for that setup. On a short ski like the 160ish KOM, I find that just a 3-pin minus the hardwire works just fine. I personally think that the SB would be overkill for such a short maneuverable ski. Excursions tour pr...
