Re: Slightly active bindings: Voile Switchback or X2

I was out the last two days with T-4s on Voile Insanes (112 underfoot) mounted with X2s. What I noticed was that I didn't feel the limited range of motion with the T4s that I felt with T2s and I felt that the added activity of the X2 was a good match with the light T4. Hey this is interesting! What...

Re: 2014 Fischer E-99 Crown

4 to 5" of denser but not wet clumping snow today mixed with ice pellets on a hard but edgeable base. The ski just flies and the shovels rise right to the top thanks to that "nordic rocker." Ideal conditions for this ski, great grip and glide. Smooth flex with no surprises.

Re: Slightly active bindings: Voile Switchback or X2

The 3pin Hardwire is: MEDIUM Activity with softest cartridges The Switchback is: MOST NEUTRAL Activity with medium cartridges The Switchback X2 is: MOST ACTIVE with stiffest cartridges. (activity being referenced between themselves, not other off-voile bindings) Are you asking about Kick and Gliding...

Re: Point a newbie in the right direction for telemark skiing

Phoenix- looks like he's going for the Hammerheads per the link. Nice binding, you can adjust the activity level. Jak is a great ski. My friends that had Jaks loved them, I had the Line Mothership which was the exact same ski with a layer of metal in it mounted for AT, and I looooved it. I gave it t...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

I still watch performance-obsessed XC track skiers looking on with horror as I grip-wax the tips of my track touring skis- as they fiddle with getting their kick wax just perfect in their micro-measured kick zone- meanwhile I am kilometers down the track ahead of them in no time... Incredulously, t...

Do they have a track groove?

Is this important anymore?

I sent an email to Asnes for some clarification on the FT62 vs. FT68- and, specifically the function of the track groove!

Awesome!

Re: Time for some ski making

This is my favorite short-form video on ski making. Love the Voile Moutaineer binding, the lurk that doubles as a rest, and this guys sweater and hat. One caveat-- they only show bending the tips, but the whole ski will need to be steamed to get the camber. Another thing T-Money-- the cut out block ...

Re: Voile Releasable binding

Oh, I misunderstood you. I thought you wanted to find some. Why wouldn't you put these on your new boards? If you want to, just do it.
