Re: Slightly active bindings: Voile Switchback or X2

Check this picture out: 20180527_102332.jpg The right ski has the binding at my 30.5 boot and they mate nice, no problems. The left ski has the rods all the way in, as if it was for a very short boot, and they don't come close to being able to work. The metal connecting piece between the cartridges ...

Re: Slightly active bindings: Voile Switchback or X2

Caveat: The angle of the dangle on the steel rebar heelpiece that connects the cartridges may not meet the angle of the rods coming out of the toepiece for people with small feet. Keep this in mind. I am a mondo 30.5 and it works well because there's enough play, a much smaller foot may not have th...

Re: Mounting 3-pin bindings to Voile Objective skis

Voile recommends 98.7cm straight back from tip and mark for boot-sole center for the 178cm. Done and done. I think you're overthinking this a little too much, they make it very straightforward. Voile is also a telemark company that caters to telemark skiers. Look at their bindings. They are no slouc...

Re: Slightly active bindings: Voile Switchback or X2

That's what I thought. The bellows on my T4 collapse pretty easily even with three pins. Woods it sounds like you like where the pivot point is on the HWs but you want more activity from stiffer springs. It may be a good idea because you can tour w/o the heel throws and have extra power for the dow...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

I love skiing. All turns are beautiful. It's all about the feel and the soul of the turns we make. I love all the advice I get here to make my turns better, however they may turn out. Let's move on and keep the good vibes going into the summer! I saw this picture in Switzerland on the wall of a high...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

Good for you for still getting out there. Your stance is good as far as fore and aft, and it seems to be working for you. The only suggestion I have is to open it up a little. I think you will like the feel and realize the benefits of skiing with your skis about hip width apart, and at your skill l...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics

Where were you skiing? Your stance looks great to me and your excursion seemed to vary between the entertaining and the 'character building'. Thanks for the pictures Mount Washington in northern New Hampshire. Highest point in the US northeast at 6,288'/1916m. It's part of the Presidential Mountain...

Fortunately, my buddy brought beer for both of us. Makes the schwak go better, as always!
