No. Historically, I think 189cm+ was for 180lb skiers or more (could be off by a few lbs), but I'm 155/160 and have had success on the 189 length, 179 if I'm going to be doing more up/down than distance.

Re: updated Fischer site

WOW looks like they are BACK to long lengths! Exc 88, Outback 68 and Spider 62 are coming in 199 lengths now too! Nice! Someone saw the light. I wonder how long it will last.

Re: Summit Cone Pariah

I have NOT SKIED these skis.

I have TALKED TO PEOPLE WHO WERE, IN PERSON, WHILE THEY WERE SKIING THEM.

Nothing but good things. Very happy. I fondled them and stuff. Intrigued but you know, other skis.

I do like the dimensions- my favorite. They looked bomber in construction.

Re: Telemark Ski and binding question

I'm going to say it's probably OK to put alpine bindings on those skis, but I'm certainly not an expert. If any the Volkls most likely, the Black Diamonds... someone else can probably chime in.

Re: Telemark Ski and binding question

97% yes. Gotta picture or salient details? There are a few tele skis manufactured that are not necessarily built in a way that can accept/survive the forces in the heel on a fixed alpine binding. They are few and far between, though. You can always try to join the darkside, and realize what you've b...

Re: homemade skis

Totally interested, especially if your technique doesn't include a hydraulic press. Personally I'm a little less interested in the inserts, but don't mind the details on that either.

Supply chain info too!

Re: Ski Review: Åsnes Storetind

To account for those radius differences there has to be flex/rocker thing going on, I would say the cambers are probably all very different.

Re: 3 pin or tts?

This is a great first post for so many reasons! Welcome! I am tres intrigued by your skis and I would love to see some pics, they are easily attached by using the tab below the text box and adding inline. A few of us have dabbled or dream of dabbling in ski making and it seems you've nailed it. Also...
