Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

OK Long version. Most of this is alpine skiing: K2 made some easy skiing tele skis back in the day. But I’ve had the sense their skis tend heavy and/or soft or just soft, maybe cheap. Didn’t help moving production to China as far as perspective. I tried some volkl years ago, really nice, energetic....

Obviously don’t take it too seriously, it’s just my perspective, but I’ve not had great luck with those brands with some limited demos and ownership over the years. Never say never, your mileage may vary etc. but that’s why I said “I’d steer clear of.”
no hard feelings, actually curious!

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

Fischer Rangers are great. You can often get good prices too. Not too much ski, but snappy stiff and energetic. K2, Volkl, Elan, Salomon and Rossignol I’d steer clear of. Black Crows might be good? Handled the Ranger's not what I'm looking for in flex pattern and the tails were a bit too turned up ...

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

184cm They'll come down, they always do I picked up my Kendo 88s for 399 and my Wingmen 86 for 299. I would expect about the same as the K88 for these. I may roam around to some shops and offer cash. Long length, end of season. Buying skis is like fishing. Wait patiently, enjoy the process. Honestly...

Water: We’re assuming no water is accessible and we’ll be boiling each day, yes? Or can we expect any open water on the route we can filter or treat Stove: Did you take a liquid fuel stove or IsoPro? I have both MSR XGK EX and a Jetboil, just gauging the need to boil lots of water vs the warmish te...

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

Those and the 2024 Enforcer 100 look interesting. I had the sense both skis had more tail rocker than you wanted, but there's not much out there with flat tails in that width. https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?&q=skiessentials+enforcer+100&&mid=89C093109A2A453B07DA89C093109A2A453B0...

Re: Solid yet economical NNN-BC boot, Rossignol BC X10

Wow your little review got me thinking that I should just get something on sale and wait for the big deal find on leathers then pounce. Just picked up these his & hers pairs of Rossi X10 on clearance for $120 CAD each. They were $299, then $235, then $179 on an online sale price. I called the store...

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

Think I found something
K2 Mindbender 99 Ti

Flatter tail, good shovel size, shovel to tail ratio is telemark friendly, flex is even and the shovel isn't too stiff and the tails are supportive yet forgiving. Layer of metal for dampening... this could be it!

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

So let's change the parameters, what's a softer, but not noodley 105ish waisted ski? I love my M Cross 88's, which have a tail flat enough that I get a bit concerned skiing switch except on groomers. But they have a crazy tight turn radius and are too narrow. Edit: At DV right now. 4Frnt Kye 110 ha...

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

So let's change the parameters, what's a softer, but not noodley 105ish waisted ski? Don’t you have a RS 106? No Too stiff anyway. Stiffer than the 96! I have a Nomad 105 and that's a great powder ski but I get hung up on the big twin in steep terrain when I've really got a knee down and my ass in ...
