Re: World's smallest NNNBC boot?

lilcliffy,

Don't know much about boots/skis for children but I think Akers might have a good selection?

The love of skiing should start early. Good for you!

Re: Sbounds...leathers

You are right! Kind of silly and hypocritical to worry about ski wax when there are worse sources of pollution etc. I think this has been on my mind because I ski in YNP along the Gallatin river and its tributaries. Such a pristine area makes me more concerned about river/ground water pollution.

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Agree with lilcliffy. Long, traditonal, waxable touring skis are the way to go for touring especially in the colder conditions that I experience in SW Montana. Last season I used kick wax on my Asnes to climb/tour instead of skins with good results. I still have environmental concerns with ski wax a...

Re: 3 pin or tts?

trashcat: Making your own skis-wow! Very impressed. Lots of wisdom and good tech knowlege on this forum which can help you decide. Good point about all the money/energy being put into development of AT gear. I started my BC on AT gear many years ago but switched to 3-pin and NNN system. I ski on old...

Re: happy summer, ya'll

t-$ Thanks for posting and checking in. The longer I am from my last day of skiing, the more irritiable I become. Skiing is a mood altering experience. I am counting the days until the first snowfall when I will wax my skis and get them ready to go. Also, I am concerned that one of my favorite place...

Eloquent comment that really defines the novelty and adventure of skiing. Your words or were you quoting TM's?

Woodserson:

Thanks for posting. Skiing really is the only thing that makes perfect sense. When you are doing that turn your mind is accutely in the moment and all other wordly static is shut out. That's why skiing is so good for our minds and souls.

skiing is good for your mental health

Last November, my husband and I moved (development refugees) from an urban area in SW Montana (30 years) to a rural town in SW Montana. OMG: culture shock/moving shock. I drove the distance to YNP and skied a number of great powder day! And, I also found some good skiing in the mountains in area whe...
