Sounds like fun, glad you still have good snow. Take care of yourself out there, we don’t want you changing your name to Captain Hook! ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: Thoughts on Xplore from a XC racing enthusiast
Marius, I came to touring from alpine. Many years past. However I believe it’s only been 7-8 years since I’ve been on leather. When I purchased the FT Xplore there was no Xplore binding available, but it wouldn’t have been a consideration as I have an Alaska 75, an Alico Ski March (stiff soled, ankl...

Re: Åsnes Falketind 62 vs Rabb 68 (21/22 season)
I’m 5’9” (around 175 cm) I weigh 190 lbs (186 K+) I ski a 196 FT X. My FT was 188, but that was the longest available. The original FT was soft and surfy, skiing it short for tight trees could make sense. The new FT X isn’t soft, it turns quickly, but it isn’t soft and surfy. I see no reason to ski ...

Re: Åsnes Falketind 62 vs Rabb 68 (21/22 season)
The FT Xplore is capable as an XC ski. It offers kick and glide in consolidated snow as well as soft snow. It also tracks well on consolidated snow. It is supportive in deeps snow. On the downhill, while the rocker makes for easier turn initiation and does direct the ski to the surface. The arc of t...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 - First Time Questions
I have a hat that my wife knitted me from qiviut/ musk ox wool we bought on our trip to Greenland and it's completely amazing. [/quote] I’m trying to figure out what is more completely amazing, that a man in 2022 has a hat his wife hand knitted, or that it is knitted from musk ox wool! You sir are l...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot
I wear a US 11, I ordered a UK 10. It fits well and have been skiing it for a few years now. However, I use it for when the purpose of the tour is to ski downhill. I prefer my Alaska 75 for more touring with easy turns

Re: Falketind 62 vs Eons?
is the FT Xplore only for Xplore bindings? or can it be used with other bindings too? I mounted mine with Rottefella Super Telemark with cable. While I’m sure the Xplore binding system is nice, I own an Alaska 75, Alico Ski March, and a T-4. No way as of yet for the Xplore system to compete with th...

Re: What's in your Pulk?
I get what you’re saying, however this is the place where I’ve learned about the best skis for my mountain bike trails which is most of my close to home skiing, except those too infrequent times where my local glades fill in enough to be somewhat skiable. Here is where I learned about the best skis ...

Re: What's in your Pulk?
If I have so much gear in the pile that I need to consider dragging it behind me, I'm probably going to revise my route or itinerary instead. And -- since this is ostensibly a telemark forum -- I'll add that I've never seen anyone make tele turns while dragging an overloaded sled. Mike, I’ve read y...
