Re: A Little Love for Rex Universal

lowangle al I do adjust a bit, if temps are closer to 25F I might be 3 layers and extended towards the tip more, while at single digits it might just be a single layer in the wax pocket only. It just works so good in powder snow. It just needs to be a dust of powder and it grips and glides so well....

A Little Love for Rex Universal

It’s been all of January. I’ve skied mostly powder snow, and air temps in the Fahrenheit teens. Last night it dropped to 2 F, was about 15 F when I went out. Wax of the day? Rex Universal tar wax is so good on powder snow for both grip and glide. Other than a little extra warmer wax in the pocket wh...

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?

I would suggest an insole, or extra sock. You need to fill that unfilled area of those boots. That type of crease will hurt you

Re: New leathers--crease control

...an insole in to fill some space so that crease cannot form a powerful angle that hurts your foot. ...however it is quite possible I am not explaining it well enough. Thanks. Explained just fine. I see it in the boot; I feel it in my soft human tissue. Crease already formed. You may also be sugge...

Re: New leathers--crease control

...I had similar (maybe less severe) problem and after I added additional insole material, it was not an issue... So, there may be a chance that this is fixable once the break has established (?) -- seems to be some mixed opinions on this (as usual). I’m not an expert, just commenting on the mechan...

Re: 32nd annual Midwest Telefest

I’ll be there this year. I’ve never been to the Porkies, I’m kind of excited to see a part of the state just a smidge further west than I ever have been.
The fact the snow map indicates a good snow pack doesn’t hurt either.

Re: Dog Questions

Detuning is typically accomplished by rubbing a rubber “gummy” stone on the edges from the tip, and from the tail. It is typically to make a ski less hooky. I find maybe about 8” on the tail, I only go about 6” from where the tip turns up. I don’t use my rubber stone much, it’s from my tool shop day...

Re: Incomplete skiing. No continuity between shuffling on the flats, a line to ride uphill and groomed snow downhill

What about picking an easier slope? You really need to cut yourself some slack. Although we have had some snow, the resort you ski at can get pretty glacial. Well at least if it’s the place I’m thinking of. I really wish I could direct you someplace easier. Maybe Hickory Hills in Traverse City? You ...
