Re: When should I consider stripping my kick wax and starting fresh again?
Smitty once the season starts, my skis always are waxed and ready to go. When the snow melts it’s time to go fishing! BTW red/silver scrapes off easier after drying over a long summer. I remember reading greatgt about his first ski of the season. He commented that the wax of the day worked great fo...

Re: When should I consider stripping my kick wax and starting fresh again?
Those were great responses from both @greatgt and @Stephen . Although they took different tones, they kind of took you from early experience to doing this for 30 plus years in successive posts. It really is pretty cool. Well at least to me

Re: Rottefella ST boot compatibility question
I purchased my Rotte ST specifically to fit my Alaska 75, which they fit really well. I have clipped my Alico Ski March boots, and they fit nicely at the first click. There is a significant difference in the clamp size between the ST and the Mountaineer. Now you have me curious. I thought my T-4 fit...

Re: When should I consider stripping my kick wax and starting fresh again?
I use quite a bit of red/silver. I scrape with the Swix steel scrapers. They work well. I have not felt the need to take skis into the shop to have them base ground for re-structuring. The bases seem fine to me. The steel scrapers get the wax off. I will add the caveat some people would find this un...

Re: Considering the Gamme
@Stephen As my Welsh-speaking (1st language) grandmother always said- "English sucks". I once asked a friend of mine- a Wolastoqey Elder and botanist- what the Wolostoqey word was for paper/white birch (Betula papyrifera). (I was- and am- super keen for my students to be exposed to and learn some i...

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?
Update on this ongoing project I have now ordered BOTH a Guide Expedition 75 and Fischer Transnordic 75. Will make a side-by-side comparison and decide which one is most fit for the purpose - sufficient walking comfort, solid downhill performance. Will share my takeaways here. The boots of choice w...

Grip wax always offers some grip- even if it is not enough grip to work effectively as a kick wax.

No difference, same product, just a different context of use

Re: Canada Freedom Convoy
Following up on the Freedom Protest, I have seen the glorious prime minister of Canada, denounce these racist protesters. He has pegged them as white nationalist fringe bigots, and rightly so! Mr. Trudeau has also stated he has nothing against protesters, he himself has supported BLM protests. I wil...

Re: Voile Tele ski crampon
@spopepro Thank you for your post. I have been aware of this simple crampon for some time. I am also aware that mechanically it is a much more simple. I figured it may be too simple. Not that I’m skiing anywhere I need a ski crampon.

@randoskier Sometimes I think I want to visit Europe just for the bacon and sausages and beer. It’s okay to enjoy the simple things!
