Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?

I have (and love!) those skis, but I’m not sure about mounting NNN BC bindings on them. They are beefier than the XCBC class of ski (3.1kg per pair @ 177cm) and quite wide (96mm underfoot). I use em with Switchback X2s but I think a lighter 75mm binding would also work well to not sacrifice the dow...

I'm guessing that town used too many snow days.
Son, even though the bus is here, we’re going to let you stay home from school. You’re right, I never thought you would hear me say that either!

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?

TheMusher i have 3 sets of 3-pin cable bindings and a 3pin Hardwire. However when I bought an Alaska 75 mm boot I didn’t like the fit. So for my new Falketind 62 Xplore skis I mounted them Rotte Super Telemark with the cable. I can’t say for sure what I think of the cable, it’s been in my pack. I w...

Re: Fischer BCX Europa 109 Tour

I would mark balance point and chord center. I would also determine where the most narrow part of the ski is. Ideally chord center and balance point would be very close. Hopefully when you set your boot pins on BP, ball of foot will be on that waist of the ski. I find pulling my hair out for a coupl...

Re: Best waterproofing for Ski-March and similar black boots?

I’m using Hydrobloc. It works very well

If I couldn’t get Hydrobloc I would use the Nikwax product

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?

I have a Tindan 86 mounted 3- pin Hardwire. I can ski that combination in good conditions with my Alico Ski March boots. I have doubts that the Transnordic 75 is much more of a boot than the Ski March. Maybe it is??? I know that 86 mm underfoot is pushing a stiff Vibram Norwegian welted sole. I also...

Re: XCD skis for 250lb Clydesdale?

These will work but you may have difficulty finding them. https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/product/glidelite-mix-kicker-50mm/ That being said waxing is not Chinese arithmetic. It works really well. You don’t want to pull a skin on and off unless you are gaining elevation over a good dista...

Re: Ernie

It's from his book about his years in Paris: "A Movable Feast". Reminiscences of the years when he was in his prime. Takes lots of liberties with the truth, and that's maybe what makes it a good read. Liberties with the truth??? Being a fisherman I know my friends and myself would find it to take l...

Re: Newbie wax and snow question

Dave Mann (Pinnah) from the Telewiki page described putting a harder wax over a warmer wax (or klister, which is more difficult) The harder wax prevents sticking, but since it is a thin layer the snow crystals are able to gain grip into the softer wax, but do not stick to it, as the crystals are not...

Re: Polar/green iron temp

I think I am the exception. I cork in my Polar with a natural cork. I cork it in vigorously and make it shine. You can also feel a bit of warmth to it when I’m done. I have a new to me waxless ski, that will get the iron soon. I need to find my wax iron, I have not used it in quite some time! Maybe ...
