Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

Actually Stephen I meant they are different skis. Given the time, terrain, and snow I could use both skis in different situations. The difference in longitudinal stiffness, flex, and camber, make the Xplore version quite a different ski from the original FT. For me I can see the Xplore getting almos...

Re: Ernie

Please enlighten me. I’ve read some Hemingway. I’ve not read that. I’m liking him more all the time, live bait for trout, and hiking and skiing. Having big fish take the boat for a sleigh ride, bonus!

Re: Newbie wax and snow question

If you easily brushed the snow off, typically the snow would self clean on the glide. I get more shine on wax with my natural cork, so that is what I would use to eliminate some minor sticking, followed by a good brushing. That being said said I use my synthetic cork a lot more. It took me a long ti...

@randoskier That trail map is enough to have me go out and buy an NTN resort set-up. That is amazing. I can see the importance of watching the time if you decided to explore

Re: Newbie wax and snow question

That really doesn’t look like it was sticking badly. Were you kicking and gliding or merely walking? I ask because if I were merely walking, because say I was going up a steep grade, I could definitely see having a bit of snow sticking like that. I would also expect that snow to come clean with a sl...

Re: Ski Camber and Rocker

Stephen The FT Xplore is a different ski. I’m cautious about saying too much until I put it through it’s paces. I will say it is stabile in kick and glide in deep snow. It also will kick and glide on a consolidated base, without any wax pocket drag, and with some snap. I have also pointed them down...

Re: How much snow to safely ski paved road?

I would say, 4” is generally pretty good. However I have rock skis, I live in southern Michigan. Rock skis are really important to have. If you don’t have any rock skis, I have an Asnes USGI at 200 cm which could use a base grind, and an old Europa 99 it’s a royal blue with red model 210 cm. It was ...

Re: Crazy Lift ticket Prices!!!!

Marquette may be a different story, but Marquette itself is pretty different from the rest of the UP. [/quote] Marquette is indeed a different town, only place in the entire world where a woman sent me a drink in a bar. In Marquette it happened three times! I had a lot of fun skiing that little reso...
